Monoprice is well known for their cheap accessories. Now they are adding onto that list with the new Monoprice external battery. It comes in both a 3000 mAh and 5000 mAh capacity, for $23.00 and $29.00! That is extremely cheap for an external battery.
The Monoprice external battery is in an iPhone shape, just a small bit larger. The shell is created using a plastic, while the inside is the battery cell. Both batteries are extremely light. To charge just plug in the USB dock connector to the battery pack.
This will charge an iPad,iPhone,iPod, and just about any device with a USB connection. An iPad was test on the 5000 mAh cell and it was found the iPad charged to near 27 percent within an hour. Thats enough charge to juice up a whole iPhone to 100 percent.
The battery pack itself is also charged using a USB power source. Four LEDs on the battery pack display both the existing charge and recharging status. The button on the front of the battery pack is used to check the charge status and to turn on or off the charging output. A 30″ USB A male to USB micro-B male cable is included.
