| Phone Cable, RJ11 (6P4C), Reverse - 25ft for voice | | | Question: What''s the difference between Straight and Reverse cables and which one do I need? | Answer: With telephone cables, if the two ends of the cables were to be held side by side in the same direction, a straight cable would have the order for the wires leading to the contacts the same, while the reverse would have one end in the opposite order of the other.
For example, with a 6P4C cable, with a straight cable, the order of the colored wires on both ends would be the same.
white - white
black - black
red - red
green - green
yellow - yellow
blue - blue
With the reverse cable, each end would be the opposite.
white - blue
black - yellow
red - green
green - red
yellow - black
blue - white
In telecommunications application for residential phone lines whether for voice or data (DSL) the pinouts are for each line are set in pairs and paired from the inside out instead of left to right. | | Question: What does 8P8C, 6P6C and 6P4C mean? | | Answer: "P" stands for positions on the plug and "C" stands for conductors seated in those positions. | | Free at last |  Pros: My phone can now reach a distance of 25 feet away from the jack.
Cons: Ive lost an excuse not to answer the phone..
Have you ever found yourself with a phone that was out of reach because your cable was less than 25 feet long. Thinking, we can put a man on the moon but my phone is out of reach..Well my friends your wishes have been granted! With this 25 foot phone cable your wonderful device can extend 25 feet from the appropriate rj11 receptacle. These are glorious days we live in!

| | Mystery cable works fine | Pros: It's an inexpensive phone cable, easily ordered and promptly delivered, and it works.
Cons: It is completely unlabeled and comes in an unlabeled bag. And only one color is available.
I wasn't sure whether I needed a straight-thru or crossover phone cable, so it was cheap enough to order both and try 'em out. Monoprice did provide technical advice, and the advice was probably correct but I will never know for sure because the cables are indistinguishable (possibly someone with better eyesight would note the wire colors at the pin but they both look the same to me.

This cable is a very good general quality, for this price it is a bargain ! I speak of experience, i've been in the elotronics retail business for 25 years
