    Lan Maintenance Tool Kit

The LAN Maintenance Tool Kit comes with everything you need to make and test RJ11 and RJ45 cables.

The tool kit includes a Multi-Network Cable Tester, which is designed to test RJ11, RJ45, BNC, and USB cables. The tester is powered with a 9 volt battery (included) and gives fail/pass indication for each wire type tested. A detachable remote terminator allows you to test cables that have been installed.

A modular crimping tool is also included, which allows you to crimp 8P8C/RJ45 and 6P/6C RJ11/12 connectors onto the appropriate cables. The cables can be prepped for installation with the included UTP/STP cutter/stripper.

An adjustable punch-down tool with dies for #66 and #110 keystones is included for when you need to make keystone jacks or install network cabling into a patch panel.

The kit comes complete with thirty RJ45 and thirty RJ11 modular plugs, as well as twenty-four RJ45 strain relief boots in various colors. The connectors and boots are stored in a handy mesh pouch, which allows you to see the contents. Each tool and the tester is held in place with elastic and/or hook&loop bands.

The entire kit is contained in a handy, double-zippered nylon bag with vinyl lining and a pair of canvas handles.

Pros: nice kit for the price, you could easily spend this amount for a crimp or punch tool alone.

This kit has a little bit of everything in it. Not meant for running wire and making cables everyday but a good kit for when a problem or something unplanned arises. Tester is basic works well to verify if your cable is good or not. There is a little bit of everything to run a data or phone line. All fits in a nice little case.

    Pros: High Quality
    Works well

Cons: Strippers on the Crimper don't work that well.

I bought this to make new cat6 runs throughout my house. Everything works well and is good quality. My only complaint, and it is very small, is that the strippers on the crimper, don't seem to work that well, however, I just use a standard cable stripper, everything else is great.

Pros: The kit contains everything you need to complete a data wiring job except for the cable itself.

Cons: The tools are good except the tester can be better. It only tells you if the cable is good or bad, no details on which pair is crossed or dead.

I was able to complete a 200+ pair run using this toolkit. In short it got the job done.

    Handy little kit

Pros: Handy little everything in one place kit. I have a problem keeping the tools to work on Cat5 together so this has paid for itself in hours saved not looking for these tools. The tester gives you more than just a good/bad indicator and it's a good price for a tester, crimper, & punch down tool, which come with 2 tips.

    Cons: None

I added my EZ crimp tool, PoE tester, and a link check tester, to round it out for my needs. That all fits in a small compartment along with some cable ties, connectors, Cat5 barrels and such. The case is just big enough to hold all that so you're not going to add too much more in the way of tools. But I consider that a plus.
