The TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) case is a nice compromise between the flexibility of the soft silicone skin, and the stronger form factor of the harder crystal and polycarbonate cases. The TPU material is highly resistant to scratches and fingermarks. It is pliable, yet resistant to tearing, making it good-looking and long-lasting alternative to other materials.
While the case has cutouts for the connectors and camera lens, the controls are covered, preventing dust and other material from entering the iPad 2, New iPad (aka iPad 3), or iPad With Retina Display (aka iPad 4), yet still allowing the controls to be easily manipulated through special button molds in the case. Although the case covers the cellular antenna area, it will not interfere with cellular reception.

| | Too slippery | Pros: Fits well.
Cons: Very slick - no grip. Does not look like the pictures.
I had previously purchased this for my iPad 1 and it had a nice feel to it that you could grip well, all while providing protection. This version, for an iPad 2, fails on a couple of different levels. First, the picture makes the item look uniform with a design or stripe incorporated. In reality, it is a combination of clear and frosted sections, that is divided by the stripe - not at all what I expected from the pictures or from what the tech described during the online chat about the item. The second problem was the frosted section is very slippery, so much that I am afraid it will slip out of my hands if I am not extremely careful. I thought I was purchasing the same thing - only for a different model of iPad.

| | nice case for low price | this case is nice for the low price only thing wrong was it took me about a half hour to get on because it was so tight and everytime i came close to getting it it peeled up my screen protector so it took time to get it right. otherwise its nice and light with decent protection.

| | Tpu case | Pros: Excellent feel, good protection.
Cons: Does not work with the screen protector part number 9501
This is an excllent case fits perfectly it has a very good feel but the only downside is that when you use the screen protector part number 9501 it strts to peel of.

| | Good protection and grip, heavy for a Tpu case | Pros: Good protection it seems. Fit is very good with a larger cutout for the 30 pin. Snug fit and inspires confidence for accident protection. Great added grip and makes it easier to hang on to....but
Cons: Compared to the ipad mini Tpu case, this is considerably more dense and thick. So it's heavier. it's not awful and if you are considering a dense heavy duty Tpu case, this is a great one. It just added more weight than I anticipated. If you lie in bed holding this up you may want something more lightweight.
good price. Good product. Monoprice should have specified overnight delivery doesn't apply to Saturdays. I hope they make a version more svelte like the ipad mini case. they're effectively the same thing, but the mini case is obviously a newer design.
