Didnt work

Pros: cheap

Cons: sometimes they might be made just a little too cheap...

Just finished the basement and went to plug in the ir blaster and it falls right out. At first I thought maybe I bought a 3.5 male with a 3.5 female, but I just looked and it was a 3.5 to 2.5 35 cents isn't work returning i suppose and it isn't worth ordering another one for 2.99 shipping. I also had subwoofer cable that was bad. granted I have purchased a lot of things and only 2 failures but both are needed...

Not working with IR

Doesnt seem to work with extending my IR blaster. My 2.5 cable doesnt really snap in or grip with this adapter. Not sure if its me or the product, but I was hoping it would work so I could get my TV ir blaster up and working, but no success. I'm not sure if its the stereo I need, but figured the mono adapter would work best with IR.

Kinda bummed. Gotta figure out how else to get this to work.

Defective

I have experienced the same issue as others on this item (7125). There must be a defective batch that Monoprice has not accounted for. The 2.5mm receiver will not connect the plug just flops around inside. I have contacted them for a replacement. It is a $0.35 part so I hope they will just ship me another one without any issues.

Works as designed

Pros: Works

Cons: little to bulky for my tastes

nothing special to say other than it worked great - see my review of PID 10150 where i explain what other part is used for extending an ir blaster

Doesn't Work

Pros: None.

Cons: Either broken or improperly made.

Same problem others have noted. I'm plugging a 2.5 mm IR blaster (Logitech) into it, and the plug just falls out. Either the adapter is broken or was built improperly. Still love Monoprice, but this adapter doesn't work for its stated purpose.

Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues you have experienced with PID 7125. May I ask if it clicks at all when you plug it in or if you can see the contacts inside of the port? Please let me know so I can further assist.

No, it doesn't click when inserting the plug, and I can't "feel" the contacts by moving the plug around. I tried looking in and couldn't really see very well, so I dissected the adapter. It appears that the strips of metal that make up the contacts may not have been bent correctly? I'll email you a photo.
