| | Doesn't fit punch-down tool | Pros: - Inexpensive
- Good quality blade
Cons: - Does not fit standard punch-down tool
This is similar to my review of the combo 66/110 punch-down blade (Monoprice PID 7046). The width of the blade is several millimeters too wide to fit into a standard punch down tool, which makes it unusable in my case. It's shame too, as this is a good quality blade for the price.
Advice for Monoprice: shave several millimeters of width off of both slides of both blades. That should allow the blade to fit (on either side) into an industry standard punch-down tool.

| | Functional and cheap, a great combination | I used this to pull Ethernet (and more!) throughout a 6000sqf house, it did it's job perfectly. It takes a bit more force than I'd like before it punches, but once you get the angle right, the mechanism works every time.
The cutting blade doesn't really cut the cables off, it mostly annoys the extra wire, but since I always have wire cutters in my hands anyway while wiring ethernet, this was a minor annoyance at best, and it often nicks the wire enough that you can bend it and it'll snap off.
For the price, it's definitely worth it. If you spend your career wiring ethernet, get a tool with a better cutting blade.

| | Best for the price | Pros: well built, sharp blade, Price
Cons: I waited two weeks for the package to arrive from monoprice. I thought that Canada post lost the package but finally its here. I live in western Ontario, Canada.
I bought the fluke networks D814 punchdown tool from ebay. It only came with 66 type blade. I needed 110 type blade for the patch panel. Fluke network's eversharp 110 blade is selling around $29 online. I came across this punch down blade and thought i will give it a try for the price. I am lucky, this blade is a perfect fit for the D814 punchdown tool. It worked flawlessly. It cuts of the excess wire. Tool will last as it was built good. For the price its well worth it. Can't find anything cheaper than this.
