Cons: Lacks information on transformer needed or the option to buy the correct part from the company
These housings require a 24VAC transformer that the company doesn't sell. They don't even list as a reference, the size transformer needed.

| | Why must they brand everything?????? | Pros: Cheap.
Cons: Heater and blower don't work on any of the many units we've purchased over the last two years. Heater gets too hot and is concerning whether it is fire safe. Fan has never turned over. Ever.

For now, if you prefer, I can assist you in setting you up for a replacement on the item if you haven't done so already. We do warrant our non-electronics and cables with a lifetime warranty as well as a 1 year warranty for electronics. It will be of no additional cost to obtain a replacement, so please let me know if you want to continue. I would just require your order# to set it up. Warranty is great, but when it is housing a camera that by law can't be taken off line, it makes the warranty pointless. Same is true for camera housings that are installed way high up. To take the camera down and replace the housing costs a lot of money in equipment rentals and labor.

| | Great housing with an important feature | This housing has a sun shade that keeps the sun from beating directly on the housing. There is also an airspace between the shade and housing that helps with stopping the heat. If you are running an IP cam it has to prevented from overheating. Analog cameras can take much more heat than an IP camera. This housing is great for locations in the south or southwest.

| | These require 24VAC. | Pros: Good all round brick camera housing.
Cons: Wish Monoprice would have sent me the 12V DC model so it would work with their power supplies.
I bought 4 of these because I needed a heater to keep the cameras warm in the winter. The only complaint I have with them is that all the power supplies Monoprice sells are 12V DC and these are 24VAC. The power requirements are not listed in the specifications on the website.
