PCI-Express 2x Dual RS-232 Serial Port and 1x Parallel Port Card, Moschip Chipset
Add one parallel and two serial ports to your Windows® or Linux desktop PC using this PCI-Express Dual Serial and Parallel Port Card from Monoprice!
This single-lane (x1) PCI-Express card uses the MOSCHIP MCS9901 chipset to provide two RS-232 serial ports and one IEEE-1294 parallel port. It features a female DB-25 connector on the main support bracket and two male DE-9 (aka DB-9) serial ports on a second bracket, which connect to the card via a ribbon cables. It also includes half-height support brackets for use in low-profile computer cases.

Note that this card now uses the MCS-9901CV chip. The manual specifies using the drivers in the MCS9900 directory. Please use the drivers in the MCS9901 directory instead or download the latest drivers linked below.

| | Nice unit, nice price! |  Pros: Easy setup, drivers available both online and on disc. Unit works well. Easy setup.
I was hoping I could use the parallel port on this for an old software license dongle, but it wouldn't see it when I had it mounted. That is not the fault of this unit, but the old software just couldn't see the dongle on my newer computer. The unit installed easily, and drivers were loaded without problems. I had a little confusion when I tried to distinguish which ports were which in Device manager, but finally sorted that out. Unit works well, and the price was great!

| | Excellent add-on card. | Pros: This replaced, one of another manufacture, that I had purchased about a year earlier. This one worked, no trouble! The earlier one did unpleasant things to my computer: most notably, when turned off, you waited about 30 min before the machine would boot.

| | Works Great Low Cost PCI-E 2 RS-232, 1LPT1 | Pros: Low cost as usual from monoprice, PCI-E card, and WORKS! New PCs no longer have serial or parallel ports and if you need to interface with older equipment that requires serial, parallel port and you only have PCI-E slots open in your PC like I did this is the way to go.
Cons: None
The base address of your parallel port is changed so do not expect 0x378. You will need to configure any software that uses parallel port to use the assigned address by the Multi I/O Card but this is expected.
