| | Bang for the buck | Pros: Price, performance, convenient size...you couldn't build this for what you pay for it.
Cons: I based this review/rating on my limited time (since Christmas 2015) with this product, so any potential glitches haven't yet exposed themselves. I hope they won't.
We bought this for a kid learning to play drums as a way of allowing him to play to music, but not have to blare music through loudspeakers. Quite simply, it works. An iPod or cellphone generally cannot reproduce sound loud enough through headphones/earbuds to be audible over live drums. This little amp solves that issue. I can't attest to crosstalk, but each channel has its own op-amp (4 x 5532) and uses metal film resistors on-board (yeah, I took a look under the hood). The kid is using a pair of Sennheiser 520's and the amp drives them no problem. This is not what I would consider an audiophile headphone amplifier, but for the purpose we bought it for, it performs admirably...especially for the price! Two thumbs up!

| | Pretty OK headphone amp | Pros: Great price, solid build, simple, small.
Cons: Volume levels aren't exactly independent, some bleed, some noise.
For $30 it does what it's supposed to. If you need to push 4 sets of headphones, this will do the trick. If you're looking for pristine, crystal clear audio, this is not the headphone amp for you. I use it in my home studio, and it's great for pushing headphone mixes to multiple musicians. However, I wouldn't recommend using it for critical listening.

| | Monoprice delivers again! | Pros: Excellent value, plenty of power, reasonably durable
Cons: None experienced
Solid little 4 channel headphone amp. I've only tested with 1/4" TRS in, but haven't experienced the crosstalk that other reviewers have complained of, even at mixed hi/low/silent volumes. I've also used this with different loads (some 600O studio cans, some 25-50O) and though the 600O load is certainly noticeably quieter, it's still plenty of volume for recording monitoring purposes.

| | Not terrible but definitely not that good | Pros: Small, not expensive, easy to use
Cons: Signal bleed from channel 1 to other channels, also the more you turn up channel 1, it adds bass and distortion to the other channels. Plus it's very dirty sounding, very noisy. Also feels cheap, like you could easily over-turn the knobs
I guess technically speaking, it works. It just doesn't work very well and even at $30, it should be better quality than it is. Sure I could go buy a used Behringer headphone amp for less than $100, but if monoprice is going to offer this for $30, I figured I would give it a shot. One less rack space to take up.

| | Beware: Channel bleed! | Pros: Well built. Different input types. Headphone jacks are on the front.
Cons: Channel bleed!
If you have audio running into the unit, and more than one set of headphones plugged in, you can hear audio bleed into another set of headphones when the volume knob is turned ALL THE WAY DOWN! Monoprice claimed that this was a defective unit. I was skeptical and followed their advice to do an RMA. The second unit arrived with the same issue. They again claimed this was a defective unit. They would not listen that THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW, not an issue with individual units. If the volume is turned down on that headphone channel, NO SOUND SHOULD COME OUT! The point of having four individual volume knobs is to adjust the volume individually i.e. one volume knob shouldn't affect the others. Beware of this channel bled defect!
