40-Watt, 1x10 Guitar Combo Amplifier with Spring Reverb
Crank it up to 11 using this 40-watt 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp with Spring Reverb from Monoprice!
This guitar amp employs a 40-watt amplifier driving a 10-inch, 4-ohm speaker. It features a genuine spring-reverb, which allows you to capture the classic surf sound made famous by such artists as Dick Dale, the Beach Boys, the Ventures, and Man or Astro-man? The spring reverb is also useful for production of electronic music, lounge, or anything where you want to produce dark, dripping overtones to your sound.
This amp features three adjustable EQ controls at 100 Hz, 1 KHz, and 3 KHz. The reverb is adjustable along with the gain level for the overdrive circuit. It has two guitar level inputs, one of which has a -6dB pad for use with instruments with active electronics. A line level output allows you to send the output to a recorder or mixing board and FX Send and Return jacks allow you to use external effects processors. The amp features headphone and external speaker outputs, both of which automatically mute the internal speaker when in use.
Unlike most amps, which top out at 10, this amp has been engineered with volume controls that go to 11! This allows you to crank along at 10 for most of a show then, when you want that extra push over the cliff, you can crank it up to 11 and really send the audience into a frenzy!

| | Great amp for the price! | Pros: Great price. Great sound. Impressive volume.
Cons: None that I can think of.
Color me impressed. This is a GREAT amp for the price. Clean sound. Overdrive is what you would expect from an amp/speaker this size. Have tried a number of different guitars played though different effect stomp boxes and this amp handles them all. This amp really cranks too!

| | Could be a good gigging amp | Pros: Fairly lightweight, and with good 'chug' and 'spank' to its sound.
Cons: Would like a 12" speaker with closed back.
First impression: With the bass cranked and the mid/treble set to moderate, and through the 'gain' channel, this thing has good chug for a "10 speaker. With its solid state circuitry, could be a good gigging amplifier, but micing to a P.A. would probably be necessary for all but the smaller venues. Still, it's pretty loud, and would be good in rehearsal.
I would love to see this with one or two 12" speakers, and maybe in 60w or 100w, and with closed back. All in all, as it is, it would be tough to find more for your money than you get with this here amplifier.

| Pros: Great price. Really good practice amp. I was surprised at the power and how clean the sound was
Cons: The reverb hum's when turned up, so I don't use it. Other than that I'm pleased.
I waited for it to go on sale with free shipping. Well worth the money I paid.

| | My needs are minimal - but this amp is great | Pros: Plenty of volume - an 11 setting - Give me a break, too much "This is Spinal Tap"
All the functions seem to work fine
Cons: None
I just needed a basic amp to play with. Built-in reverb is nice, and the sound quality is pleasant, so I have no complaints. Truthfully, I haven't used it much since my new guitar is not a solid-body, so it is loud enough to practice with unamplified, but I am quite satisfied with the purchase. I'm sure it would be quite adequate in a performance setting.

| | 40 watt, 1x10 Guitar Combo Amplifier with Spring Reverb | Pros: Excellent value for a simple, small guitar amp. Especially for practice. Sounds good right out of the box. Reverb works well
Cons: None considering the price and intended purpose!
I bought this amp with the intention of replacing the speaker as soon as the amp was delivered. I bought this amp when it was on sale for 25% off. My intention was to swap out the electric guitar speaker and add a 10", 4 Ohm, Full Range speaker and see how this amp would work as a low cost acoustic guitar amp. I bought a $60 full range speaker for this amp and the results with my PRS Angelus A/E were fabulous! Swapping the speakers took me 10 minutes. A direct drop in full range speaker. With a delay pedal and this full range speaker, this amp sounds ethereal with my PRS!
As you may know, acoustic guitar amps always seem to be over priced compared to electric guitar amps.
Essentially, what I have now is a solid state, 40 watt, 1x10 acoustic/electric combo amp for $136 out the door including the cost of the full range speaker and the tone rivals good $350 acoustic guitar combos out there!
Well done once again, Monoprice!
