5-Watt Guitar Amplifier, Portable Recorder, and USB Audio Interface
You will always be ready for a performance or recording when you have this 5-watt Guitar Amplifier, Portable Recorder, and USB Audio Interface from Monoprice!
This little 5-watt amp delivers a big sound with plenty of loudness and clarity for ad hoc outdoor performances. It has a built-in guitar distortion effect, so you can get great sound without needing external processors. In addition to the 1/4" guitar cable input, it features a 3.5mm microphone input, so you can add vocals to your performance.
A 3.5mm auxiliary input allows you to connect a smartphone or music player. The music will then play through the amp with your guitar and/or vocals in the mix. If you don't want to carry around an extra device, just plug your microSD card into the amp and play your music directly. It supports playback of mp3, wav, and wma audio files.
The microSD card is also used for audio recordings. You can record your guitar performance, along with any mic or aux inputs, to 128 Kbps mp3 files on the microSD card.
An added feature is the ability to plug the amplifier into a PC or Mac using the included mini USB cable. The amplifier is true plug 'n play, so no drivers disks are needed. Your PC or Mac will automatically install the drivers it needs for a USB speaker system.
The amplifier is powered by an internal 1500mAh battery.

| | Pretty worthless | Pros: None
Cons: Everything
I wish I could find something nice to say about this. Overly distorted sound at any level. Not a clean tone to be made. There are many choices that far surpass this amps abilities. I would return it in a second if It wouldn't cost me more in postage and time than it is worth. Basically, straight to the garbage it goes!

| | Poorly documented, doesn't work | Pros: Guitar amp works fine. Sounds fine for what it is.
Cons: The card reader is tempermental. Mine has never read any card, even though i can plug the device into a PC and manipulate the card any way i want, including formatting. The device reads "tF" then "nO" for any size (2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB & 32GB) card i insert, and any format i use. Very dissappointing.
I wanted to like this so much. Sadly it's turned out to be about 1/3 of what i thought i was going to get, as the record/mp3-player functions do not function.

| | Very Nice Find | Pros: Small and portable. Excellent product for the price and size.
Cons: Probably should have bought two.
I travel a good bit for work and like to practice with the guitar in the hotel room at night. This little amp serves two functions for me. 1., Make sound when I play my guitar and 2, Not make too much sound when I play my guitar. There are some other bells and whistles which seem pretty cool but I have not tested them yet. This is a small practice amp so if you are looking for an all out amp with affects, etc... then this is not your thing (it is not advertised as such but I saw some complaints). Would recommend and may consider buying an additional one for my son.

| | 5 Watt Guitar Amp | Pros: Hmm, price...but you get what you pay for on this one.
Cons: I purchased this for my kids to use with their new electric guitar. While it amplifies the sound, there is an unacceptable amount of noise - regardless of numerous adjustments. All components, guitar, cables, jacks, adapters, amp, mic, are from Monoprice. This 5 watt amp is the weak link. There is very little point in using the mic and guitar jack simultaneously as no matter what adjustments are made the only thing that is heard is the guitar - and the quality is barely acceptable/tolerable. When the jacks are properly positioned the sound is actually worse than when they are only in halfway. Hmm. Had there been any reviews on the 20 watt amp, I probably would have spent the extra money and gone with that upgrade. I now wished that I would have. If I had to do it over again, I would look for an alternative. If you just want to plug your headset into this amp for practice, you can make it work. This is not the amp to purchase if you are looking for decent sound amplification. In my opinion there are too many limitations and the electrical noise renders this product unacceptable.
I have purchased many outstanding products from Monoprice. This 5 watt guitar amp is probably my biggest let down.
by Monoprice Administrator Hello,
Thank you for your review and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered with this amplifier. Did you try a different set of cables or devices? Does the noise still occur? Please let me know and maybe I can assist you in getting an RMA. Thank you!

| | 5 watt guitar amp | Pros: excellent sound. Easy to use
Cons: Wish the stand was more stable. Kept flopping over because of connecting cable.
charged it as soon as I got it. Plugged in the guitar and was very pleased with the sound and range of distortion possible. Great little item for practice. Very happy with purchase.
