Protect your acoustic guitar from the ravages of desiccation using this Acoustic Guitar Humidifier from Monoprice! Being made of thin wood, your acoustic guitar is much more susceptible to variations in humidity than a solid body electric would be. If you live in particularly dry regions, such as many parts of Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, or Colorado, you know first hand how dry things can get and how wood can distort and warp as it is drained of its last vestiges of moisture. This humidifier is designed to counteract the low-humidity levels by slowly releasing small amounts of moisture into the air over a long period of time. For best results, use only distilled water in the humidifier, suspend it between the middle strings, and store your guitar at or near 70°F (21°C). Support Files:

Less expensive alternative by a few bucks to the Planet Waves version which has a similar fit between the strings. Uses a material similar to flower pot foam rather than sponge. Holds water well without dripping. As suggested by others, just soak the whole thing in water rather than through the opening at top. Note that the top is not meant to be removed it doesn't snap on & off like the Planet Waves. It can be taken off by prying with a thin blade but it won't reattach securely. This is only an issue if you needed to replace the foam for some reason, so if it has good longevity then no biggie.
