| | Ok speakers ..great price tho!! | Pros: Light weight, clear highs . Decent sound!! Really cheap!! Look like a very serviceable speaker!!
Cons: My speakers came dead on arrival I unscrew the screws on the back and saw a wire that was unsolder. Solder the wire back and everything worked fine.
When I dj a very big venue these speaker are great to setup for the back of the room to add as sound reinforcement, I use these so I I don't have to over power my front speakers for the rear of the room to hear. Since I already own 18inch subs the lack of bass is not a big deal. Great price and value, I wouldn't use these as my main speakers but would work as backup.

| | Unbelievable Value | Pros: Lightweight Rolling Various inputs and output jacks Sound Good
Cons: Only 150 Watts
I have purchased two of these speakers to use for band rehearsals and general indoor PA use. I have found them to be an unbelievable value. They are surprisingly lightweight considering their size, but they also have two wheels so you can roll them if needed (very convenient). There's a good selection of inputs & output jacks along with volume and tone controls. Sonically, I can say I was pleasantly surprised. I had a set of other powered speakers that I had paid more for and these moonrise speakers sounded much better. There was more clarity and better low-end. For the price, there's nothing even remotely close on the market.

| | For this price, you can't go wrong | Pros: Very light. Very powerful.
Cons: If you're not using these on mounting stands, make sure the lock screws are tight. I thought I had a bad tweeter due to noise when it got loud. Turned out to be the locking screw rattling.
I bought a pair to use as powered speakers off my Eleven Rack. I'm not currently gigging, so I can't comment as to how they hold up on stage, but in my practice room, they are outstanding. Most of the time, my computer audio is also running through them. They are on the bright sounding side, but the controls seem to provide enough balance that it is not objectionable. I bought these on sale, but the sale price didn't include free shipping. The actual end total was within $5 of what it would have been at regular price with free shipping. If you need good powered PA speakers for not a lot of money, you can't go wrong with these.

| Pros: Treble is super loud
Cons: Bass is super weak
I bought 2 of these speakers for my living room. One had a minor dent on the grill, but that would be UPS's fault, not mono price.
I spent a few hours trying to tune these things, but I just can't get results I like. My mistake may be that I bought these for a very large living room. I've never bought PA speakers before so I thought this would fill the room well. My problem with them is that the treble is so unbelievably loud, while the bass is so underpowered in contrast. Even when I turn the treble all the way down and bass all the way up, it still seems mismatched. I wondered if the powerful amp was connected to the tweeter instead of the woofer. I have a 100 dollar pair of computer speakers that can blow these woofers out of the water.
These will be fine for my daughters birthday parties, but I think the sound is just too harsh and unbalanced for everyday listening. Sorry monoprice.
I should have waited for more reviews before pulling the trigger
by Monoprice Administrator Hello,
Thank you for your review, and I am truly sorry that you couldn't tune the speakers to your liking. Have you tried changing, what you are outputting on these speakers and manually adjusting the equalizer on the device? Please let me know if you have any luck doing so, thank you!

| | If you’re on the fence about these, don't hesitate! | Pros: Class D amplification, powerful, solid construction, easy to take apart/modify, sound fantastic, easy to transport.
Cons: Not stackable
I work as a mobile DJ entertaining at weddings and have long used all monoprice cables for my gear. When I head they were getting into pro audio I was naturally excited about the product line. I was using a pair of 8 inch powered PA speakers (class AB amplification along with two subs) and looking for something with more power. Last month, I decided to go all in, sold my old speakers and ordered a pair of these sight unseen. First time I used them was at a wedding, and thankfully my gamble paid off in a big way because these speakers are amazing!
They sound great with good highs, mids, and lows. The class D amplification is nice because you achieve a lot of power without a lot of electricity or heat. I can drive these speakers hard and get a lot of volume before they start clipping. At small or medium sized venues I would be confident using a pair of these without subs. They accept a wide variety of inputs and the line out allows you to daisy chain these or pass the signal through to subwoofers which I do. There is a knob to adjust the signal strength separate from the volume so you can give a strong signal to other speakers in the chain without cranking the volume on the first which is a great feature. For ceremonies I can run a single speaker off of a battery/ 200 watt inverter combo no problem.
The speakers are big, but deceptively light. The handles make it easy to mount them on stands or carry and the wheels are a nice touch. My one complaint is that the speakers have a round top so you can't stack one on top of the other and wheel them around together.
I opened up these speakers to examine the guts and the insides are clean and nicely put together with well secured boards and drivers and nicely soldered connections. Not that I plan on blowing a speaker driver but it is nice to know with these cabinets they are easy to replace.
I would expect to pay twice or three times what I did for a speaker of this caliber. As is after buying these I feel like I robbed a guitar center. A+
