| | Good and Bad | Pros: Very lightweight. Good height adjustment. Spring loaded music clips are nice. Seems decently made. Comes with a bag to hold it. The price is right!
Cons: So lightweight it is unstable and wobbly. Shelf is very narrow (more than other folding stands). Bag to hold it seems cheap and might not last long.
This is a very lightweight music stand, which is both good and bad. It wobbles a bit, and the shelf is very narrow. It is good for holding a few sheets of music, but I would not try to put a binder of music on it. So, if you need the lightest stand possible and don't plan on putting much on it or using it where it might be easily knocked over, this is a good choice. Just be warned that it isn't very strong.

| | Would be a fantastic value even if it cost three times as much | Pros: Lightweight. Great price. Monoprice quality. Encouraging my daughter to practice more.
Cons: None
I bought two of these, one of my daughter and the other for myself, as we are just starting to take guitar classes together. We are given a few new sheets with new chords and songs to practice each week and using a coffee table wasn't cutting it. At less than $7 each these stands work fantastic for our needs. I also like to place my smartphone on the stand as I am our class, and I am happy to see these are sturdy enough to also hold my phone (or our tablets) as we also tend to play around with guitar-learning apps. What a great value. Thanks Monoprice for another great product.

| | Our Band Likes Them | Pros: A great stand for a great price. We were able to buy enough for our entire East Orange Unified Marching Band. We were impressed with the top tabs and the spring clips for holding music open and keeping it from blowing away.
Cons: It's too soon to know how long they will last or if the students will find them cumbersome.
I needed a lot of music stands for a newly formed community band, and these were the least costly of all that I found. I was able to buy enough to outfit the entire band and when they arrived we were all impressed at their quality and the extra music holding features we hadn't anticipated. The fact the each came with a carrying case meant that the students could borrow them to take home for practice.

| | Serves its purpose | Pros: inexpensive, fairly sturdy
Cons: Stand is not level, tilts about 10 degrees and no way to adjust without bending it.
For less than $7 I can not complain

| | cheap and flimsy | Pros: very cheap. and very light
Cons: unstable and flimsy
this stand is so flimsy it wobbles and the shelf is very narrow, so all in all, it's probably OK for indoor use with only a few sheets of music, as long as you don't extend it too high.
Plus mine came with a defective screw so it's pretty much unusable.
Judging from other reviews, I may have gotten a defective one (aside from the defective screw, that is)
Contacted monoprice, waiting for resolution.

by oz in Oakland as usual Monoprice excelled in their customer service and shipped me a brand new stand immediately. The replacement has no broken parts so that's good. However, I still can't recommend the stand on its own merits if you're going to use it in any situation where you need stability (e.g. gigs) or for more than a few sheets of paper. So 11 stars to Monoprice, a little as possible for the stand itself.
