Doesn't work for AES to SPDIF

Pros: It looks nice and probably works for analog purposes.

Cons: It doesn't work for digital purposes, which is why I bought it. It was my mistake for assuming.

I haven't used it for analog purposes, so I don't really have a fair review to offer. Hopefully someone learns from my mistake.

RCA End Faulty.

Pros: Fast shipping. Prepaid return.

Cons: I have to ship them back for a refund. I really needed them badly. Was told by 2 employees that it wouldn't be wise to file for replacements. Saying that I would most likely get faulty cables again. So atm I'm unsure if I should even bother ordering any type of pre-wired cables from them in the future. This isn't the first time I've received faulty XLR to RCA cables. I waited quite awhile between now and the first time I received faulty cables. Hoping that they would have sorted this out. But apparently nothing was done to assure quality once again.

Ordered them (4) on 12/1/11. I received the cables on 12/3/11.

While troubleshooting (I wasn't getting enough signal to my subs, tested all 4) I found that it was these cables causing the problem. I used another 10ft XLR F to RCA cable I bought some time ago from MP that I knew worked to confirm that it was these cables. I opened the RCA end and found they filled it completely with some sort of hard waxy/rubber coating. I would think that had something to do with connection not sending full strength signal through the cable. They usually just have a thin sleeve between the terminals and jacket. So not sure why they changed it. To me it seemed while filling the inside of the connector it put too much pressure between the solder and terminal and broke the contacts. But not entirely. I still got a weak signal through the cables. W/e the case they didn't work correctly.

XLR to RCA Adapter

Pros: Price
Well Made
Works as advertised
Does not degrade sound quality

Cons: None

A good alternate to the very expensive Cardas adapters which cost $85/pair.

Poorly Designed Connection on XLR Side

Pros: Looks well constructed, price

Cons: Unable to mate the XLR female side to the XLR male side on my component (Oppo blu-ray player). I had a similar experience to one of the reviewers below. However, in my case not only did I not hear the "clicking" noise that locks it into place, it wouldn't insert enough get a signal at all. I love Monoprice, but they they need to take a serious look at the design of this thing.
