Did exactly what I needed. Needed to get video from an old VHS tape into my computer using a Haupaugge device. I think since this device is bi-directional it worked well. Other adapters did not work.

Very Pleasing Experience

Pros: Every thing as advertised

Cons: none

My first experience with monoprice definitely will not be my last. Everything about the transaction smooth as silk ... product precisely as advertised

Svideo adapter

Pros: it technically works

Cons: The picture quality is poor. Fuzzy images.

Purchased these adapters to deal with the dwindling number of Svideo inputs on monitors. While I can get a picture from them, the quality is poor.

Not recommended for Video Game Consoles

Pros: None

Cons: Bad picture quality, wouldnt fit in A/V switch

I purchased 10 of these for use with some video game consoles, some older, some newer, ranging from the NES/Master System days through the Wii. I was going to use these to run through a couple of A/V Switch boxes, so I could have all the consoles hooked up together, as some of my consoles use S-Video, and others use the RCA, and I was hoping I wouldn't have to plug/unplug the s-video cable when switching consoles. The adapters wouldn't fit into the selector boxes, partly due to the boxes having the input in a bit too far, and partly due to the bulk of plastic around the adapters. After they wouldn't fit in the boxes, I decided to try plugging one into the TV directly and hooked up a few different consoles to it, and all of them had noticeably worse picture quality than if I had simply plugged the RCA cable directly in.

Pros: Cheap, durable

Cons: Does not give satisfactory picture quality going from composite to S-video

The other poor reviews are correct. The picture quality is very degraded going from composite to S-video. They may work going the other way, but I haven't tested. First time I've gotten something from Monoprice that does not work as expected. They'll do for the time being, but I'll be looking into another solution.
