The problem is that some manufacturer's cut costs by using Copper Clad Aluminum wire for their conductors. The aluminum has a higher resistance, which causes more heat and can thereby present a fire hazard. "Bare copper" is the term used in the National Electrical Code, Underwriters Laboratories, and the Communications Cable and Connectivity Association (CCCA). Our use of the term is intended to communicate our total compliance with their standards for Ethernet cable construction.

Ordered this, and 11 other Cat6 cables, to upgrade existing home network with a gigabit connection. I expected great results and none of the cables disappoint. When needing cables in the future, Monoprice is where I'm going.
I highly recommend these cables from Monoprice: the selection was terrific, shipping fast, and customer service impeccable when an unexpected delay in shipping on a couples cables occurred (I was emailed updates and delayed cables were 1 day behind others).

These are good quality cables, available in different colors and lengths. I buy all of my cables from Monoprice, whether it is A/V, HDMI or computer related, and I have never received a bad product. The quality is excellent, and so is the price!
