did not work as expected

Pros: cheap

Cons: I bought to connect my Mac to a projector via component video, but the converter never worked as expected

not worth the trouble

Thank you for your review and my apologies for the issues you have experienced with PID 2508. Now if I may ask, what model projector are you using? The reason I ask is that this cable is specifically for use with projectors that use a DVI-I connector for its component (YPbPr) video connection. Sorry again for the trouble and thanks in advance!

Great cable for the job

Pros: Cable construction good and solid. Works with clear signal for connections

Cons: Colored parts of cable could have bit thicker sheathing, but that hasn't hurt the life of the cable yet.

Cable plugged in and worked, what else could I ask for? At this price, I am super pleased with its use.

Good quality / do your homework b4 buying

Pros: Good construction

Didn't do my homework before I purchased this cable. If your purchasing this for Hi-Def or connected it to or from a HDCP device it will not work. HDCP requires a handshake before sending or accepting a signal. Might work on a device 6 years old or older since that is when HDCP was first introduced.

Keep in mind this is noted on the product description.

IT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CONNECT YOUR COMPONENT VIDEO SOURCES TO A REGULAR COMPUTER MONITOR OR HDTV unless you monitor specifically has this capability. Most do not. (Please check the documentation for your computer monitor)

THIS CABLE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CONNECT YOUR COMPUTER'S DVI PORT TO THE COMPONENT INPUT ON YOUR HDTV unless your video card supports component out function through it's DVI port (please confirm with your video cards documentation before purchasing. Some require adapter, not this cable.)

So make sure your video card supports this cable. Thank you!

Doesn't Fit

The horizontal pin is too long so it wouldn't fit in the monitor port.
