STP stands for Shielded Twisted Pairs.
The ethernet standard uses data packet transmission and error correction. Unlike streaming data transmission, this standard simply buffers and repeats until it has a complete instruction set which compensates data transmission errors.
Since UTP was cheaper in the beginning, it generally became the standard. If you are using the cables for ethernet connections, either should work. The problem is that some manufacturer's cut costs by using Copper Clad Aluminum wire for their conductors. The aluminum has a higher resistance, which causes more heat and can thereby present a fire hazard. "Bare copper" is the term used in the National Electrical Code, Underwriters Laboratories, and the Communications Cable and Connectivity Association (CCCA). Our use of the term is intended to communicate our total compliance with their standards for Ethernet cable construction. |

| | Does the job. |  Pros: Almost everything.
Cons: It's a hard-coated cable, so it's a bit difficult to conform the cord to the ground.
The cable reaches perfectly from the router to my desktop. For $5 you can't ask for more.

| | Great service - as always! | Pros: Products perform well. Same specs and performance as Apple products at a much lower cost. I am seeing Monoprice quoted in more tech blogs and magazines for their excellent products and services.
Cons: None
I will keep coming back to Monoiprice for high performance products at a realistic price. Beats the retail big boxes and other online sites. Stick with Monoprice for great products, shipping, and reliability.

| Pros: It was a great investment. It came quicker than expected and it was way cheaper than any store I would've went to. I will definitely buy from here again

I just recieved this in the mail and was expecting something a little cheap for 5$ but i was totally wrong! its excellent, Durable and has a nice color that brings an extra touch to it!
