| | Reluctant to purchase, but SO glad I did. | Pros: 100% digital illustration work flow perfect pressure sensitivity (inking my drawings has never been easier) I'm still getting used to it but that's my problem not the tablets easy install on both Mac OS X & Windows 10 increased the "cool factor" of my desk (I like gadgets)
Cons: A few minor things: 1. While hovering the stylus it will register as “clicking” at just the right distance and leave unwanted marks or will select or unselect the tool I want, etc. I assume this is a driver issue. I hope future updates fix this! Not a deal breaker! 2. I use the DVI port to connect to my computer HDMI doesn’t give me the same resolution options in the display settings (the unit came with an HDMI cable), I assume this is my PC not the tablet. DVI works as I expected it to, so that’s fine. 3. old dog has to learn some new tricks, but that is really not a bad thing either
I have never used a WACOM Cintiq but have wanted to try one for a long time. After purchasing this from Monoprice I NEVER WILL! I have been a Wacom Graphire tablet user for 10+ years. After upgrading my computers and finding out that Wacom discontinued support for my tablets (I own several) I started looking for a new tablet. I started my search at the Wacom site and after a short visit felt that I didn’t want to give them anymore of my money. I went over to Amazon and started looking for a new tablet. Monoprice products had good reviews and a price point that was very attractive. I went to Monoprice’s site to see all of their tablets. I was only planning on purchasing a Graphics Tablet in the 30 – 60 dollar price range. When I saw the MP 22-inch 1080p Pen Display Tablet for under $500 I had a very hard time believing that it would perform as stated. So I started researching. This was a bit of an impulse purchase for me even though it took me three days to actually order. I was apprehensive but figured what the heck, if it doesn’t work, I will just return it. I am VERY glad that I ordered because long story short… I LOVE THIS THING! I have installed on my Mac Book Pro running OS X El Capitan with no issues so far. I ordered Manga Studio 4EX to use with it on my Mac as well no issues there either. Two thumbs way way up! I have also installed on my Windows 10 machine with no issues to use with Adobe CS6. So far so good. I have only been using this for a week now so I am still getting used to using it.
I will be posting some samples of my work in the near future on my website here www.wildegeese.com And on my facebook page www.facebook.com/wildegeese

| | This is fantastic | Pros: -Everything works
Cons: -None yet.
This works on all the programs I use (toonboom and paint sai). I use Windows 10 and the latest drivers support pen sensitivity!

| | Works great for 4 times the price, but is still Beta | Pros: Great Screen Accurate Colors Excellent Pressure Battery Free, Light Pen Lots of Positions Large Real Estate for the Price
Cons: Pens Eraser at an Angle Glare on the Screen No Tilt Support Issues with Windows 10
Thank you Monoprice for making something this affordable, that is also a very terrific value. It is definitely a solid 4 and a few small improvements would get it to a 5. As with most reviewers, it does not lay completely flat (not a huge deal), and I agree with the glass and random catches on the screen. Nothing that makes it too hard to use, but just a little pain in the rear. I've ordered a the Planar PXL2230MW screen protector (25% Anti-Glare) and will see if this helps, but that adds an extra $50 to the cost. The pen moves very well with the cursor and I have no problem following accurately. It was a bit of a pain to set up with Windows 10, I had to adjust scaling on a 1080p HP Spectre x360 13t laptop (it does not have a pen driver on it) multiple times before the bottom left target would show for the initial calibration. It works just fine with Krita, but with Manga Studio 5 EX, the icons are so large you cannot see anything, adjusting it back in scaling then throws off the pen. I'm using Krita for now. The drivers still don't support tilt, which has caused issues in painting, but their support has said they are still actively working on it. No ETA yet though. It would also help, if we could get email updates announcing new drivers since the driver section still says (Jun 8, 2015), but the first reviewer mentioned these drivers were about a month old. All in all, it's a solid progression from their first few attempts, and well work the price. Similar Cintiq competitors are going for $600 for 19 inches on amazon. Also, any of the others with higher rez screens are in sizes larger than 22 inches. The Cintiq 22 HD and 22 HD Touch are both the same resolution. A pen holder would also have been appreciated for our cluttered art desks, but that was also a small $6 fix.

| | Great Bang for $ | Pros: Nice Display (color, contrast, brightness) Value compared to alternatives is awesome Love the mount/tilt mechanism.
Cons: Pen is triangular and a bit large. Windows 10 problem noted above. Blue LED is piercing (a common problem with electronics these days, so I have some stick on "sunglasses" for them).
I'm an occasional user of a non-display drawing tablet, and a spotty user of several of the Adobe apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign). I say this because sometimes it's hard to judge a review without knowing something about how the reviewer actually uses the device.
The problem with using a non-display tablet for the occasional user is not being able to look at your hand and the results of your hand movements (on the screen) at the same time. Thus, I was always frustrated by the non-display tablet. All that in total means I was looking for a good drawing/display device, but wasn't willing to pay what it would take to get the Wacom version. In that regard, products like that are dead to me so I can't compare this to them.
Overall, I think this is a fantastic value at $500. I'd love more resolution but at 22", standard 1080p is adequate. I'd like a round pen instead of a triangular one, but it works well and it's not really that hard to adapt to.
My current beef (and there's an element of faith to the 5-star rating here) is that the Windows 10 driver does not handle multiple displays in a way that makes the device usable at all. It's like going back to a non-display tablet in many ways as it wants to remap the tablet to cover the entire virtual display area. Thus, the pointer no longer corresponds to the screen correctly.
The current solution to this is to turn off the secondary display. This is marginally acceptable as a workaround. I am told there is an update to the driver coming, and assuming this happens within a month or two, I can live with the workaround.

| | Fantastic, with minor flaws | I picked up this display after researching many others in this price range. And so far it's wonderful to work with. No regrets what so ever. In an effort to trim down on my gushing and leave info that will help others decide if this is the right display or not, I'm only going to talk about the things I've disliked so far. A great many of these are highly subjective.
But, first and foremost, the pen. It's a triangle. Which is very usable, but I find my fingers shifting frequently on it searching for more comfort. Never had this issue with the rounded variety I've owned in the past. Worse yet, the eraser. The design only allows for it to be used from a very specific angle. Which is a little irritating. I find my self just using an eraser hotkey instead of physically turning the pen over now.
Second, the screen. The screen is incredibly glossy. You're going to see reflections all over the place. And because the surface feels like glass, your pen nib will encounter resistance randomly. Almost like there's something on the screen, even when it's completely clean. Lighting wise, the screen isn't too bad, but there is a fair bit of bleed in the bottom corners of mine. Speaking of light, the power light in the top center is like a blueish eye of sauron. Looking at the thing will leave after images in your vision even after a momentary glance. I put a piece of black electrical tape over it the very first day I had this display.
Other than that stuff, I have very few complaints. This product is certainly worth 5 stars if you can get over the pen and glossy screen. I haven't tried a screen protector yet, but that would potentially upgrade this thing to 5 stars pretty easily. And if I hadn't had so much experience with a few Cintiqs, I likely wouldn't even notice what I was missing. The gap between the two is smaller than I was expecting. And that's awesome!
tldr - If you're on the fence about this versus a Cintiq 22HD, pick this up unless the function buttons are worth the price difference.
