So far these only work for about 2 weeks and then go out. You get what you pay for.

In the past, the cables I have received from Monoprice have been of excellent quality. Recently I have had a handful of cables fail within a year and now this one did not work upon receipt. I have requested a replacement, we will see what happens.

Pros: Good quality cables at a fair price. They appear to be well made and have good strain relief on both ends of the cable. I like the fact that they are MiFi certified by Apple and do not mind spending a little bit more than cheap cables that may or may not work.

Cons: The only con is that sometime it take a while to get through the replacement process and for me even though the cables are still under warranty in the request refund/replacement section I can not select them because Monoprice has set some type of flag and in RED letters it says Not Eligible. I do not understand this since these cables have LIFETIME warranties. This needs to be fixed. It take me many back and forth emails to get warranty coverage completed.. Other than that they provide a great product at a reasonable price.

After two years PID 10374 failed to charge my phone or sync. This was immediately after the IOS 9.2.1 update. I received the dreaded "This Cable is Not Certified and May Not Work Reliably" message. I tried it on multiple charges and different PC's but it would no longer work. I contacted Monoprice since they have lifetime warranty on their cables and they replaced it with this current version that worked right out the package with no issues.

Pros: I suppose the black colour is quite nice.

Cons: Don't work. Highly suspicious of other reviews given that we tested six of them, so I'll assume the "this is great" reviews must have had a different sample from us.

Ordered six cables - we're an app developer, so when we say "don't work" we tested across at least a dozen iOS devices with six different macbooks. About 50% of device/macbook combinations minimally "work" meaning you can establish an iTunes or XCode connection, the rest emit continuous pinging. Those that do "work" disconnect randomly when transferring large app builds. All device/mac combinations are fine with a geniune, ripp-of-but-at-least-it-functions Apple cable. Would gladly post a video of functionality with a geneuine lighting cable vs this. Monoprice credibility took a hit with us and the developer community we share with on the back of this too. I suppose we'll get offered to return them but since we're in Canada that process will take aeons.

This is a properly-functioning Lightning cable at 1/4 or 1/3 the price. How do they do it?
