This sound bar features a wireless Bluetooth® 4.0 connection from your audio source and a wireless 2.4GHz connection from the soundbar to the subwoofer, allowing you both easy access and the freedom to place the subwoofer wherever you want, unconstrained by the need to run wires. In addition to the Bluetooth input, the soundbar features both stereo analog RCA inputs and a digital optical (Toslink) audio inputs.
The compact, wall-mountable soundbar measures only 41.9" x 4.2" x 2.6", while the separate subwoofer comes in at 14.0" x 10.6" x 10.6". The 20-watt/channel soundbar uses a pair of 1.8" x 6.0" full-range drivers and produces 95dB ±3dB SPL, while the 60-watt subwoofer utilizes a single 6.5" subwoofer, which produces an 83dB ±3dB SPL. The combination of the soundbar and the subwoofer produces an overall 30 Hz ~ 18 kHz frequency response (±3dB).
The soundbar can be controlled using the included remote. It features Music, Movie, and TV equalizer profiles, as well as a 3D effect and a Wall/Table bass control switch, which adjusts the equalization for specific mounting configurations. A remote control is included.

| | Auto Shutoff a deal breaker |  Further to my earlier review, the Standby Mode now activates no matter what app I am using or whether I am wired or Bluetooth connected.. The sound bar consistently goes into Standby after 10 minutes so I have to keep the remote handy to repeatedly turn the power back on.. Very frustrating.

| | Does the job. Minimally better than TV speakers | Pros: Easy to install. Wireless subwoofer and bluetooth are all wonderful add on to a basic television
Cons: Tinny sound, VERY directional. I have it mounted about 4 inches below the television and It can be rather distracting when voices sound like theyre coming from actors stomachs.
Marginally better sound than a stock television
Let me say right off the bat that the biggest improvement to the sound of a built in television speaker comes from adding a subwoofer. This soundbar provides the means for a wireless subwoofer which is really handy, but the soundbar itself is marginally better than the speakers in the television.
I could not find a better sound bar for the price, but if i were to do it again, id purchase a Home Theater in a Box for a little more money

| | Annoying Performance Issue | Pros: Great overall sound, easy setup, good build quality.
Cons: Annoying dialogue sound performance, confusing button modes, low quality remote.
Overall, this soundbar has fantastic sound with great mid and bass performance. The build quality is good for the price. I did, however, experience a deal-breaking issue with mid-high frequency sounds (primarily voices). Very regularly, when someone was talking, there would be a high buzz-vibration noise coming from the bar. To me, it was very noticeable and became annoying to the point of distracting me from the content. I voiced my concern with customer service and the product was replaced with a new one. Unfortunately, the new one had the same issue. I had to return it because of this issue. With music, this bar sounds incredible but for average TV and movie scenarios with dialogue, the bar failed. If this issue were to be fixed, I would absolutely purchase this bar again. No other complaints.

| | cannot connect anymore | Is there a download for the manual? I can't find mine.
This soundbar worked great when I got it. I haven't used it for a few months.
Connected to tv via optical cable.
When I get the blue light for "dig", it used to play. Now it sits there for a bit and the sound bar turns off.
Any way to reset this?

Thank you for your review and sorry to hear of the issues you have experienced with PID 12177. Unfortunately, there would not be a way to reset the soundbar. I wanted to ask if you try using any of the other inputs if the same issue occurs?

| | Excellent Sound Bar for the Price | Pros: Purchased mine during a one day SALE at an unheard of price for a 42 in soundbar. Great sound, fits my needs just fine. Bluetooth works great. Subwoofer delivers enough punch for movies and music. A similar Samsung Bar will run you 3 to four times as much. Not worth it, in my opinion. Im a return customer and have always been happy with my Monoprice products.
Cons: Honestly, only think is the credit card thinness of the remote. I dont mind the small remote, it just that the darn thing keeps sinking in between my couch pillows! lol....small price to pay for the otherwise great product.
