Product headline inaccurate - the trim is for 4

Pros: Price is right. Light color is decent. Aesthetically they look pretty nice in the ceiling.

    Cons: Size stated incorrectly.

These will not fit 5" cans as would be expected from the product title. They are made for 4" cans. Yes, the trim bezel is 5" in diameter, but that means they will not cover the hole cut-out for a 5" can... 5" trim fixtures should have around 6" trim diameter.

Pros: Nice quality so far. They look nice

Cons: May not dim as low as I'd like in my theater, but I don't have a digital Lutron switch in yet specifically designed for LED. (I have 8 of these and 1 Halogen bulb and I am using a Lutron Spacer switch)

For the money you can't beat them. I am very, very happy with them.

    Good Value, not groundged

Pros: Goog price, nice light color. Had an adapter for standard lightbulb

Cons: Did not have a grounded connection option & I had to manually wire to adapter of old LED fixture.

I had two blinking fixtures from my remodel 5 1/2 yrs ago with LED. The replacements fit fine, but my original LED have a grounded connection. I had to manually re-wire the old connectort with the ground wire to the monoprice LED

Pros: Inexpensive, quickly shipped, works perfectly.

    Cons: Light quality is awful.

The CRI is stated to be 80. 80 is about the lowest CRI for a good light. However, the LED unit is powered by a duty-cycle style of power supply. This means it strobes. Not so that you would consciously notice, but it causes the light to look fluorescent. I used some color correcting gels to correct the color to 2700K, but it still looks harsh. It's fine for a shop, but no for a living space.

A Thing of Beauty... Once Installed

    Pros: Bright, clean light.
    Low, low power.
    Good color.
    Good price.

Cons: Installing into existing can a problem because can design clashed with blub design. Also, retaining clips and kind of weird.

I was excited to see Monoprice with LED bulbs and bought this last November (8 months ago) just to try it out. I used it in an existing can over the kitchen sink.

Turns out the can was larger than 4" and had a 4" ring to step down the opening size. So I needed to mount this bulb to the ring, then snap the ring back into the can.

Unfortunately the fit between the ring and the bulb was impossibly tight because the three screw heads holding the retaining clips to the bulb stick out too far. I tried to remove the screws so I could replace them, but they were in so tight I could only get one out. I ended up filing the screw heads down a bit (hard metal), and filing three flat-bottomed grooves in the inside edge of the retaining ring (thin metal, so I could not go too deep).

Once I got the ring on the bulb the second issue was the stupid clips on the bulb, they stuck up too far and didn't grip the ring. Easy to fix, I just bent the clips down. However this would have been impossible if I were trying to mount this directly to the can, and not to a ring that comes out of the can.

Finally, after over an hour of messing about, I snapped the ring and blub assembly back into the can. Oh perfection! It's a wonderful bulb that looks and works great, but one point off for goofy non-standard screws with extra tall heads, and another point off for dumb clips. Tall screw heads and dumb clips may not affect some people.
