decent wall plate

Pros: composite and component hookups are nice and snug. they do a good job of holding onto the in-wall connection.

Cons: hdmi connection very loose for the in-wall side of the connection.

i bought two of these for an in-wall wiring of the three connections of this plate. everything about this plate model is nice, easy hookups, no wire splicing, just plug your in-wall wire to the connectors and mount to the in-wall box. the only problem i had was the hdmi connection was very very loose and would barely stay in place with hardly any pull of the wire at all. i had to put a tiny zip tie around the thin part of the hdmi wire (past the rubber that makes the head/plug portion), then put a second, larger ziptie through the first one, and then wrap around the frame of the wall plate. this is holding the in-wall hdmi cable in place securely and then i zip tied all the cables together about 1 foot away from the plate so that they all will be held in place. other than that, nice product.

HDMI Issues

Pros: 6 RCA Connectors

Cons: HDMI Could not be used

Two issues, first is that the HDMI jack would not hold the cable well enough. It would just fall out as I tried to install it. This was ok since I really bought it for the 6 RCA connectors. I have two other HDMI's installed next to it. However, I was using a recessed gang box and there simply wasn't enough wall cavity left with the recessed box to fit the RCA cables. So now I need to "un-recess" this part of the box. Not really the product's issue, just don't expect good results with a recessed box.

needed more room

Pros: Rca jacks!
Insert fits into a standard dacora plate

Cons: Need more wall cavity space to use the Net jacket 'in wall' hdmi cable

This was the only pre made wall plate I found for rca jacks. The hdmi was a bonus because I was installing the Dual port flexible hdmi wall plate anyway.

I like to use the Net jacket hdmi cables in the wall. They are sturdy and very well built. Being built the way they are, their bend radius is a 'little' larger than a regular hdmi cable. That being the case I had great difficulty with making the bend in the wall cavity. I was attempting to put two of these next to each other in a triple gang box. It would have worked if I would have placed the low voltage boxes (lower and upper) closer to the maximum length of the hdmi cable instead of having an excess of 12 inches or if I would have installed a recessed box that angles the wall plate giving a much greater amount of room for excess cable to bend without restriction.

So I wound up not connecting these hdmi ports and just using the rca jacks. They are great!! I can't wait to plug in and not have wires hanging every where!! Thanks Monoprice!!!
