| | Not really a party speaker | Pros: Multiple inputs (microphone, bluetooth, usb, RCA), decent range, good bass
Cons: Not very loud, yet too bulky to be a portable bluetooth speaker
I bought this speaker hoping to have one I could play outside at parties and gathering. It doesn't have enough gain. Even turned up at full volume, with my phone volume turned to max, it isn't loud more like a TV set that's turned up than a party speaker. It has decent sound, and has a good bass, but shouldn't be called a "party" speaker. I'm probably going to return it, because I have several portable bluetooth speakers that are just as loud and much smaller.

| | Solid device, you get what you pay for | Pros: This is very loud, batter lasts much longer than the 4 hours stated in the description
Cons: Very odd bass register. Some songs hit pretty well, while others were none at all. Might be a speaker defect
Use a different RCA cable, the one in the packaging is horrible.
We used this over the 4th weekend and it performed admirably. As someone else stated the bass is weird, most of the time it is low, listening to rap/R&B we could barely hear it, but on classic rock and some pop it was loud.
We used this on a boat we rented and it was loud enough we could hear it clearly from 30-40 yards out while floating on Lake Whitney. The battery was at 2 lights still after 6 hours of playing with no charging. You do have to turn it on to charge, but I do not see why that is a big deal, it is plugged in and the bluetooth is not always on. You have to turn it on if you need it, which helps saving battery life.
The speaker though I do not believe is shielded. With the existing 3.5mm to RCA cable we got a lot of distortion from the phones we used. Bluetooth there was none. I would suggest picking up a shielded 3.5 MM to RCA cable for it, you can get them pretty cheap here on monoprice, that is at least 3ft long to prevent any feedback. We would have to move it around to find the sweet spot before we just put it in a frtio's bag.

| | Dissapointing on a few fronts... | Pros: Bt connect worked well with Android and Windows OS.
Seems well made/sturdy.
Decent mid-range and treble.
Cons: No bass.
Volume output is limited/low.
Unit must be turned on to charge.
Very disappointed by the lack of bass response by this speaker/amp.
I've had other systems with 4" speakers and they have much more bass than this unit- I turned the bass all the way up on the EQ of my media players (tried three different units) and it actually starts to make the amp in this unit overdrive/clip which actually produces even less bass- so you lower the EQ bass down a bit and you get a bit of it back again. But overall it's completely unacceptable for a unit of this size and cost.
The other main fault is the lack of overall output volume.
I connect two media players via BT and one via direct RCA cable. All resulted in rather low output volume- even with the "aux" and "main" volume knobs turned up quite a bit. Just like the clipping problem mentioned above- it seems like it's due to an undersize audio amp in this unit.
And one "who's idea was this?" head scratcher...
The unit has to be powered on in order for it to recharge... yes- verified this with the user manual.
I have had literally hundreds of electronic devices over the years- I've never came across one device (except for this unit) that required it to be powered on in order for it to recharge. Why on earth would you want to leave this speaker/amp powered on for 5+ hrs while recharging? Kind of defeats the purpose of charging doesn't it?
