Duo Case and Stand for Google Nexus 7 (2013) - Black

This leatherette case snaps firmly onto the sides and corners of your Nexus 7, holding it securely in place. When closed, the top of the case snaps over the edge to ensure it won't flap open, thereby exposing your Nexus 7 to damage.
The back of the case hinges allowing your Nexus tablet to be propped up in landscape mode, with the edge fitting into one of the two grooves inside the front cover or into the front cover clip. The inside of the case is made of a soft felt material, protecting the finish of your Nexus from scratches and scuffs.
The inside of the front cover includes a hand strap for a more convenient way to hold your tablet while keeping it safe from being dropped.

| | Case for Google Nexus 7, 2nd ed. |  Pros: Fit, materials, holes in right places. Highly recommended.
Cons: the closure is a little tight, so no 5. Once it is shut, it is stiff and hard to open. So I usually just leave it unsnapped and stick it in my bag when on the go.. The screen still shuts off without snapping shut, saving on the battery.
I have a Google Nexus 7 second edition. I've been looking for a good fitting case with the correct hole for the camera, for over a year. This case is exactly what I need. Can't find anything better. Great price.

Cons: Did not fit the tablet Nexus 7 (2013) well
The case I received was so tight at the hook that snaps the cover closed I was afraid it would pull the screen of the tablet when opening. I tried to flex the hook back and it broke.
The reason I purchased this case was due to the quality of the case I bought from Monoprice for my Nexus 7 (2012). This 2013 case has the same craftsmanship but did not fit as well.
Monoprice has always given me great service.

I purchased this cover due in part to the satisfaction I had with the Monoprice cover I had bought for my original Nexus 7 and also due to the Monoprice customer service.
This cover was not made to fit as well. The hook that keeps the cover closed was so tight that I was afraid that the tablet touch screen would be pulled loose when opening. I tried to flex the hook back, but it broke.

Cons: none at this point if you have the newer thinner Nexus7, I've not experienced others cons of Nexus7 shutdown when folding the case cover back all the way
Duo Case and Stand for Google Nexus 7 (2013) - Black (Monoprice item number 10971) has the very same wording in the description section on its Item page as the The Duo Case and Stand for Google Nexus 7 - Black (Monoprice item number 10517). However item, (10517) does not have a camera hole so you will have to remove the case every time you want to take a pic. And item 10517 fits the earlier build of the Nexus7 which is thicker than the newer builds so the snap cover does not stay closed on the newer build Nexus7. I'm presuming that is what the (2013) is all about in the Item title. I can think of several other meanings for the (2013).
Both of these issues should be mentioned in the description avoiding the need of the customer paying return postage to replace a wrong product order.

Perfect, snug fit for G2 Nexus 7 (2013)
Great tablet protection

Cons: Known magnet issue - can't open all the way without shutting off tablet
I went through 3 different cases over the first 6 months of owning my G2 Nexus 7 (2013). Including one that cost more than 3 times the cost of this one (Italian manufacturer even replaced it once when the outer material began to separate after only a few weeks). I've now had this Monoprice, rather sharp looking case for 2 years and apart from some worn corners it looks as good as the day I received it. It has saved my N7 on multiple drops. It will likely outlive my N7. The knownmagnet issue, is no big deal, you learn to hold the case so it doesn't open all the way. I hope Monoprice has the same case when I purchase my next tablet.
