can't use w/ tripod

Pros: allows you to access all the jacks/audio, etc.

Cons: can't be used on a tripod unless there's some magical attachment that goes from ttip to tripod which I'm not seeing....

Unless I'm missing something, this ONLY allows you to use this with the t-tip which, in turn, can't be used with the tripod attachment. That is why someone was having a problem w/ it and why I'm having the same problem. Maybe this review is really more about the tripod adapter which you can ONLY use with the underwater case.

The tripod adapter has to screw in and there are 4 holes for just that in the clear case that comes with camera, but this is not an option on this item. It doesn't make any sense.

There's gotta be a way to use this camera both in a normal tripod but without the enclosing case right? Please?

Works as intended

Pros: Can plug in external mic or USB cable to charge while recording
Makes the camera even smaller
Can attach to other straps very easily while being less bulky

Cons: None

It does what it's suppose to do and that's all. Not sure why one of the reviewer had issues with tilting since you are supposed to use the t-tip mount with it to tilt it. If there is a thing I do want to complain about is that monoprice doesn't sell extra t-tip mounts and we only get the one that came with the camera.

Not as described

Pros: Allows for limited mounting without the waterproof case.

Cons: Not as described. It does not come with tilting mechanism nor the ability to use the straps that come with the phone. It also does not allow the attachment of the tripod adapter or strap adapter. The reason I got this is so I didn't have to destroy the waterproof case so I can use an extended battery pack and the remote microphone.
