| | Great value, but needs a tweak | Pros: It works and it's a great value.
Cons: It points your phone/camera up at an angle useful only for photographing ceilings, clouds and tall people's nose hair.
Out of the box it seem solid and well-built. So far I've been using it without any problems save one... The angle is wrong - when you attach it to a tripod shoe it points your phone/camera almost straight up in the air. If the angle was changed it'd be perfect

| | Works as advertised | Pros: Inexpensive. Works on my iPhone 5S
Cons: Mounts at an odd angle. Doesn't feel tremendously sturdy
I purchased this with the intent to use with the flexible monopod as a desktop phone holder. It works fine in that regard. I also tried it with the flexible tripod to capture some timelapse video on a recent trip and, after some tweaking, it worked fine. However, it does mount at an odd angle and, if you are aware of that or can work to adjust the angle, it should work as advertised.

| | Not the best, but also not the worst | Pros: Its dirt cheap and pretty solid. Can fit many larger sized phones or phone size devices. Spring is very strong. Provided there is enough grip, it holds pretty tight.
Cons: practically zero angles. Spring is very strong. If there isnt enough grip, your device will shoot out of it!
I tacked this on to my order coz it was cheap and I needed one. I cant complain. For the price, its great! It doesnt do much 'cept hold your device in place. The tripod mount is fixed, so you cant move it. I guess it's assumed that you will be using this lil guy on a ball head. Which I do, so its fine.
My major concern with this clip is that the grippy padding that secures your phone isnt the best. Its very thin and is hit or miss as to how much and where it makes contact with the device. If it gets a good hold, then your golden. If not, the device shoots out of the clip. Be mindful of that. You dont want your $800 phone to fall on the ground. I would maybe suggest adding or replacing the padding with something that has more tack. Also the clip looks to have been made with cutouts so you can add some sort of elastic band to it to secure your device after youve clamped it. The packaging did not indicate this or include anything like this. It just looks like you can add this feature.
Basically, you get what you pay for. For the price, its a good product. Just be careful when using it.

| | Works but Clamps an iPhone Insecurely | Pros: Small, Compact & Lightweight
Inexpensive
Better than propping an iPhone against a rock or furniture
Cons: Requires a tripod that has a lot of swivel in the head
Doesn't clamp very securely okay for iPhone but iPad is too heavy
The price is certainly reasonable and it works reasonably well with my mini-tripod (like a gorilla pod but even smaller). I have to put the tripod in a rather precarious position to get the iPhone to point in the direction of my subject. Holding the iPhone in landscape position is a little more secure than portrait. Mine is an iPhone6 so it might work better on a 4S or 5. I use an App called "TimerCamera to take the photo. I'm just not adept at holding the phone for a selfie.

| | Good sturdy clip but very limited angles | Pros: Sturdy, cheap, great value
Cons: Not angle-able. Slightly small for an iPhone 6 Plus (but should be fine for any smaller phones).
This is a good sturdy clip that will screw into any standard tripod or tripod attachment. Obviously, it can rotate with the screw. However, it can't angle at all. It's hard-wired to be angled straight up. Therefore, it's only usable in certain circumstances. I'm a little disappointed, since this isn't clear from the photos or description. For the price, sure, it's great and sturdy and does its job. But I hope Monoprice comes out with a better one that can be angled in more usable directions.
Also note, my iPhone 6 Plus barely fits into it. It fits, but it makes me a little nervous that the spring could spring and send my iPhone flying. It should be fine for any smaller phones, but I wouldn't use this on the 6 Plus outdoors on a windy day.
