    • x.v.Color™
    • High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™

Note that Active HDMI cables are directional. Check each end for markings indicating whether it should be connected to the source or the display device. Connecting them backwards will not hurt anything, they just won't work until connected properly.

Note also that only one Active HDMI cable should be present in any single cable run, even if using a switch, splitter, or matrix. Connecting multiple active HDMI cables in series will cause them to fail to reliably transmit the video signal because each is trying to do the same thing.

    Great cable!

    Pros: Thin
    Handles 4K and 3D well.
    It Works!

    Cons: NONE

I bought this cable not knowing what to expect, but hoping that it would work in my new 4k tv by Samsung. It works great! It has no issues with 3d, 4k, anything.. I have it hooked up to my PS4 and works flawlessly. It is very thin! As other users have stated, just make sure that you are connecting the right ends to the right devices as it is an active cable and can only work one way. I will be buying more of these for my other devices. THANKS!

Pros: They slim and much more flexible than old bulky HDMI cables.

    Cons: Wish they were slimmer?

Working well with 4K. Love these slim HDMI cables whereas places like Best Buy will charge you 3x for the same cable.

Pros: lightweight easy to install, works fine, have hdmi connected direct from tv to dvd & tv to cable box

Cons: Because my older Onkyo receiver TX-SR805 ( about 7 years old ) doesn’t have 3D pass through capabilities was forced to go HDM direct from TV to DVD player
The problem i occurred when i hooked up the 18 Gbps cable from DVD play HDMI Sub Connection to receiver in
Put receiver in DVD mode & audio pass through works briefly then no sound with receiver display showing no signal
tried reconnecting my older mono price HDMI cable back between dvd & receiver but still no sound
everything worked fine for about 5 years, but since bought 4 k tv & 4k dvd player hooked up with the new 18Gbps cable, no sound from receiver to dvd player
    any ideas

Over all good cables , not sure what my problem is, possibly my older receiver not compatible with these new HDMI cables

Thank you for your review and sorry to hear you are experiencing issues. The thing about Active/Redmere cables is that they are directional. You would want to make sure that the side labeled "Source" is plugged into the source device and the side labeled "Display" or "TV" is connected to a Display. It will not work if plugged in backwards. Also because of this it is not reliable to be used to connect a source to the input of a receiver. We recommend for connecting sources to a receiver to use a thicker 24AWG HDMI cable for the most reliable signal. The Active/Redmere cables can be used with receivers but it would be from the output of a receiver to the input of a display. If I may ask do the cables work fine when connecting them directly from the source device to the display?

    Why I Love Monoprice

Pros: Sleek, slim, flexible, active HDMI cable. A boutique cable at a reasonable price. Different colors - if you're into that. Very easy to manage. Stays where you route it and will not stress the HDMI ports on your devices.

Cons: Only available up to 25'. Updated packaging looks nice, but adds to cost.

The only HDMI cables I use. I AM using these in series from several devices (PS3, PS4, OPPO BDP-103D, etc) to an AVR and then to my TV without any issues. Your results may vary. Excellent cables. I have all my friends sold on these. Two things, though - Does a 3' HDMI cable really need active signal regeneration? and Why are these only available up to 25' long?

    Hi Adam,

Thank you for your review on PID 10765. Glad to hear you have been satisfied with these cables! Regarding your first question, due to the built-in chip that regenerates the signal, Redmere cables can be much thinner than other high speed HDMI cables of the same length. I mainly see the 3ft cables used when flexibility is a must. For example, if the cable is being routed to a TV that is installed on an ultra-slim wall mount. As for the second question, we have our Select Active series and Cabernet series which come in lengths of up to 100ft. Please note that these two series are different in design from our Ultra Slim series and thicker to support the longer length. The Select series can be viewed here:

and our Cabernet series is here:

Thank you again for your feedback and I hope this helps!
