    Wi-Fi® microSD™ Adapter (Rev.2)

Add Wi-Fi® file transfer ability to your existing SDHC™ compatible digital camera using this Wi-Fi microSD™ Adapter from Monoprice!

This adapter is in the form of the popular full-sized SD™ card and features a built-in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi radio. The radio is powered by the camera (or other device it is inserted into), has a maximum indoor range from 16 ~ 55 feet, and has a maximum outdoor range from about 82 ~ 164 feet. The adapter is a stand-alone wireless hotspot and requires no other networking or applications to function.

This adapter requires an SDHC compatible full-sized SD card slot on your camera. It uses any microSD card up to 32GB capacity (not included), though class 10 cards are recommended if video is to be captured. Connecting to the adapter is as simple as selecting the adapter for your wireless network, then opening up a browser. Up to 5 users can simultaneously access the card to browse or download the contents.

This adapter was reviewed by c|net on June 19, 2014. You can read what they had to say about by clicking on this link.

    Works as expected
Plugged it into my Nikon D90, took a few pictures, connected with phone and tablet to browse pictures. Works as expected. Now my daughter can easily access pictures taken with her phone so she can post on instagram, facebook, ..... May now she will use the good camera more instead of the lousy one on her phone

    PROS: Just works

    CONS: None

Works fine Canon 60D with iPad
    Works fine.

You really should use this download jpeg due to file size issues.

Watch out for camera time out. If the camera goes to sleep, the wifi will turn off. You've got to expect that.

    PROS: Very inexpensive.

I have tried other solutions wifi-eye but they needed custom software and really complicated. This is simple and elegent

CONS: The manual says type in anything into the browser, but that it did not work.
I had to type in the IP address directly into the browser. 192.168.4.1. Something in the DNS

    Great way to transfer photos
I use it to transfer photos from my Canon T3i to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 when I am out in the field to get a better look at my photos to check to see that I got the results I was after. Not having to carry adapters and USB cables to hook to the tablet saves lots of time and trouble. There is a little learning curve ( as with a lot of good products) because the documentation is very basic thus the reason for a 9 rather then a 10. It works well and is an advantage if you want to share you photos with other tablet operating systems. Security is not an issue because of the operating range and it is pass word protected (which you can change both password and ssid if you wish to. It does not tell you how to change the password in the instructions but there is a link on the page in the browser when you are hooked up to the camera, it is in the middle to bottom of the page where you will see an option to Change Configuration sign in as admin and change password and or ssid as you would in any router/modem. Keep in mind that you are not using the internet or cell system, the link is between your camera and your device and it has a range of about 55 feet and is sharable with 5 people who have to have the password, so it is secure. Take the time to set it up and understand it and it will make your photo sharing very simple and easy.

PROS: It solves the problem of being able to transfer pictures to a tablet regardless of the operating system. Can't beat the price and works as advertized !!!

    CONS: Minimal documentation

Great for easily sharing JPGs on the go!
I'm an engineer by day and run a small photography business on the side doing events, portraits, and a few other projects here and there. I was long interested in the Eye-Fi wireless cards but found them too expensive for a capability that I may not use often. For the price, I gave the new Monoprice wifi card a try. Low price being the main incentive, but also changeable storage and not requiring special software was huge in choosing this over the similar Eye-Fi cards. You fill one of those up and you have to delete pictures. With this card, you can simply pop in another microSD and you have essentially unlimited storage with wifi capabilities. The cons are also stated above. Sometimes trouble accessing through the browser but closing and reopening usually works.

For the casual user, it's perfect. Take pictures, use the card to transfer it to your phone, and upload to social networks without the need for a computer or USB cable. For professionals that shoot RAW, wifi transfer isn't the fastest or most efficient way to transfer images so I don't recommend it for that. There is a use for some professionals though. I shoot a Canon 5Dm3 and with the dual card slots, I plan to write my main RAW images to the CF card and send a JPEG copy to the SD card. (Using class 10 microSD cards, I haven't noticed a difference in read/write speed but that's just a casual observation.) This will allow me or clients to access pictures on the go if they want to upload a shot. Makes on the go proofing really easy if you want to check on a tablet or phone. I also plan on uploading pictures to social media when taking my camera on vacation and other casual events.

Overall, I think it's a great price compared to other similar products while at the same time giving you more flexibility in terms of storage. I will definitely recommend to others looking for wireless capability for cameras.

PROS: Cheaper than other wifi capable cards.

Compatible with any camera that accepts SD cards.

Storage is changeable allowing you to give wireless capabilities to endless microSD cards.

Pictures accessed via browser, no proprietary software or apps required.

Can be accessed by multiple devices at the same time.

CONS: Devices connect easily to the wifi 'network' but sometimes come across problems accessing the files through the browser. Closing and reopening the browser has helped and I often have had easier access using Internet Explorer rather than Chrome. Sometimes takes a little time but I haven't not been able to access the files.

Unable to choose specific pictures to send. Accesses entire card (as far as I know).

Can't use wifi for internet on other device. (This isn't a con of the product, more a limitationof the hardware not being able to be used to connect to 2 networks at once.)

    First impressions: FANTASTIC!
This product makes it much more convenient and fun to share pictures with family and friends while you are taking the photos. The cons reported above may require a phone call or email to Monoprice support, but it is well worth the time invested. Since I have spent the last 44 years working in the computer industry, I did not need support and solved the problem on my own, but don't let this discourage you if you are not technically inclined. This product is worth every penny I paid for it, plus it is pure fun, a real blast and very easy to use, once you get it working.

Beware of issues with microSD memory cards that you re-use from other devices. In some cases these cards cannot be formatted in your camera. This is because they are incorrectly partitioned. If you create a brand new partition (using Disk Utility on a MacBook Pro for example), the card will then format correctly. This is NOT a problem with this Monoprice product but with the microSD memory cards themselves, how and where they were used before in other devices.

I also wish to add that I am extremely impressed with Monoprice support. I received an email from them asking me to submit a review of this product, but I had not received it yet. Much to my surprise I received another email suggesting that I contact them again if I did not get it, so they could ship me a replacement, but I received it on that same day. Service like this is rare in the technology business and this has encouraged me to refer Monoprice to everyone I know. I am a repeat customer who purchased another product a few months ago that was difficult to find and even when I found it, the reviews from other customers was very discouraging. The Monoprice product I got did not exhibit any of the problems that reviewers complained about in relation to other products, in spite of the fact that it cost significantly less.

Thank you Monoprice! You can now count me as one of your loyal repeat customers!

PROS: Great product: Unbeatable price, easy to install and super easy to use, an excellent and long-awaited upgrade to my camera! Fast transmission rate between card (in camera) and other devices!

    Excellent support from Monoprice.com!

CONS: The manual says to connect a device to the card and once connected, to open a browser window and type anything. On my iPad mini, this would not work with Safari or with Chrome, but when I used the IP address given to the iPad by the Wi-Fi microSD card, it worked perfectly!

    5/5
I purchased this to add wifi capabilities to my camera. Iprefer using a real camera to my cell phone when possible because a good camera is still superior to a cell phone camera. When we are on vacation my family gets upset because they can't post pictures from my "real" camera to facebook until we get home and transfer them to a computer, usually several weeks later. Now, they can quickly grab them over wifi. Only issue is sometimes my phone senses that the wifi is a "dead end" and not connecting to the internet. It then automatically switches back to the cell network. I solved this by putting my phone in airplane mode, then I enabled wifi. Batch downloading multiple pictures as a single ".tar" file requires you to have a utility on your phone,/computer to extract the photos from the .tar file. These are available for free (Examples: 7-zip for Windows and AndroZip File Manager for Android)

PROS: Inexpensive. Easy to use. Works as advertised.

    CONS: None.

wiFi SD Adapter Card in a Fujifilm X-10 camera.
Not working at all but hoping for a solution. Anyone have any ideas or tried it in an X series Fujifilm camera. The compatibility list only shows the x-100,.

CONS: I can't get the 11444 to work. The network is not found by my android HTC One, an Apple iPod , and an IPad 2. All have the latest software updates. I have formatted the card several times and tried different turn-on orders.

Love this adapter! I carry two 32GB micro SDs and this adapter with me everywhere now. Would highly recommend for this price point. Monoprice is always the best

PROS: Price, easy to use, simple, fast connection

CONS: - Wifi signal is sometimes hard to pick up on my iphone.

    - Loading time for pictures can take a bit of time.

    - Card seems to use up camera battery pretty bad, but still need to do some more testing to see if this was the case. I could be wrong here
