Pros: Awesome cables!

I buy and always use Monoprice Pro audio series cables! They are made well, work well and are reasonably priced! Shipping is always well packed and arrives quickly!

Pros: price. performance.

Cons: If you use the monoprice mic cable, the little metal springy ends supplied with the TRS connector are really too small diameter to fit over the cable. Also, the little holes where you slip the wires through are pretty small. I've cursed a couple times, but it always worked out in the end.

I've been doing a bunch of "custom" wiring in my modest home-recording setup, and these little guys have been great. I actually prefer working with them to the Neutrik. I've been able to make my own cables and wire up my gear for a fraction of what it would have cost to purchase the pre-assembled cables. The design seems simple and solid, and they are easy to solder.

Very nice and solid, almost perfect

Pros: Very solid construction, pretty easy to use

Cons: the relief spring/boot is very nearly too small to fit over Monoprice's premium mic cable. it takes some real prodding to get it in. Which, of course, makes it a very tight fit once it is there - maybe that should be a pro?

The dimple on the back for soldering the ground cable really ought to be a full-on hole it's pretty tough to solder. I ended up drilling them out with a 3/32" bit, which made my life much easier.

I purchased about 60 of these for a new building PA system setup. These are nice and sturdy, looking like they will last a long time!

On par with Neutrik/ REAN NYS 202 line

Pros: Inexpensive, good quality, spring relief is a nice touch.

Cons: inner insulation sleeve is not long enough on some of the plugs. Fine if you shrinkwrap the connector.

So to the other folks that were talking about the tip or ring shorting to ground against the shell of the plug, yes, I was getting this happening as well. Seems some of the insulators that go over the solder points are not long enough to cover the tip and ring solder tabs. Solution is to shrink wrap over the solder tabs. Have reported this to monoprice and hopefully they'll address it in future manufacturing runs. These aren't as nice as the switchcraft version, but they're better than the NYS version, and priced nicely!

Pros: Sturdy, nice design

Cons: none

I use these plugs for all new balanced cables for our band's PA hook-ups. They look like they'll last forever.
