PROS: Great product at less cost.
CONS: Shipping error caused $50 in extra shipping charges.
PROS: Cables are great when used properly. I've ordered several of these to hook gear to my patch bays and they are solid. Thanks Monoprice.
PROS: It works, great price
I wish the individual pair colors followed the colors that are more industry standard. (Resistor color code)
1- Brown, 2- Red, 3-orange, 4, yellow etc.
An added bonus would be to include a velcro cable wrap.
PROS: works well, as specified
CONS: the colors need to be changed.
The Monoprice XLR cables are nice. The weave on the oustside, is thick, connectors are good, etc.
This snake is completely different.
I wasn't expecting it to be super thick and sturdy for the price, but when I first saw them, I thought to myself "You get what you pay for. Oh well, these will be okay for your purposes".
I plugged the TRS into my mixing board. Plugged a a couple mics into the other side (dynamics), and turned on my interface, set it all up to record, and hit record. The first thing I noticed was how low the gain was. Normally, I would set the fader to zero and my trim pot to about 25% (for electric guitar through a decently loud amp). I had the trim pot up around 75% and was getting low levels.
I play it back and I get... HISSS. The guitar is super quiet, even with the trim pot turned up. I can use low output mics with the trim pot turned up and get little to no noise normally. I switched the cable out with a normal xlr, and everything was back to normal. I tried all 4 of them, and all were the same.
I don't even know how a cable can be this crappy!
AND, on top of this, the shipping is too expensive
CONS: They don't work
Permanently stuck in Motu 8Pre and ART Tube Opto 8. No other cables do this.
Don't know what to do...take apart my interfaces to make up for the fault of the cable manufacturers? Not too easy. Expensive to send to Motu or ART to make up for the fault of the cables. This really sucks!
Most of the products from Monoprice are spot on...these cable are a horrible.
PROS: None because they get permanently stuck in the audio interfaces.
CONS: Permanently stuck in Motu 8Pre and ART Tube Opto 8. No other cables do this. Guess who's fault this is...not Motu or ART.
Don't know what to do...take apart my interfaces to make up for the fault of the cable manufacturers? Not too easy to take apart to say the least.
Most of the products from Monoprice are spot on...these cable are a disaster.
