1.5ft Premier Series XLR Male to RCA Male 16AWG Cable (Gold Plated)

An XLR to RCA cable converts a balanced audio signal into an unbalanced signal. This is good for sending audio signals from an XLR source to an RCA input, or vice versa. Regardless of direction, the result will be an unbalanced signal.

This is a premium quality cable with gold plated connectors at each end. The cable is made with two 16 AWG oxygen-free copper conductors, in a twisted-pair arrangement, and is shielded along the full length with copper braid with 97.5% coverage.

This cable uses the standard pinout with pins 1 and 3 of the XLR connector wired to the shield of the RCA plug and pin 2 of the XLR connector wired to the tip of the RCA plug.

  • 16AWG Stranded Copper Wire Conduits.
  • 97.5% Shielded Connections
  • Gold Plated Connectors
  • Metallic Graphite Colored Connector Housings
  • Molded Strain Relief Boots.

Pros: High quality, fast delivery, low prices.

Cons: None that I know of... hopefully their business model doesn't make use of near-slaves in China and elsewhere to deliver their products at these price points.

All my computer geek friends shop a monoprice and say there is basically nowhere else as good. I have bought from here twice and have had no issues.

Pros: Build quality good, sturdy connectors, positive hookup to equipment - have not shaken loose from equipment after several hours of reference level playing.

Cons: N/A

I've worked around military jets for 30 plus years, my hearing is not what it used to be therefore, anything I say about subtle sound quality transmission would not be fair. Otherwise, I am well satisfied with build quality of these wires, and would buy them again. Fair is price for a good product.

Great deal, but...

Pros: Very good quality for the price.

Cons: RCA end is miswired.

These XLR-to-RCA cables are an incredible deal and very well built for the price.

So, why only three stars? XLR pin 2 (low) and the cable shield (XLR pin 3) are connected together at the RCA end, a potential source of ground-loop issues (in other words, hum). From my research, the best way to wire these kinds of adaptor cables to avoid hum is inot/i tying the cable shield and the low conductor together at the RCA end, instead wiring XLR pin 3 to RCA shield and insulating the cable shield at the RCA end. Short of modifying the cables (which, needless to say, is strictly at your own risk and will void warranties), buying a few cables and testing them first to ensure they will perform noiselessly in your application before committing to a larger quantity is highly recommended.
