6ft Premier Series XLR Female to 1/4inch TRS Male 16AWG Cable (Gold Plated)

Monoprice’s line of Professional Audio cables brings you high performance cables at rock bottom prices.  Whether you’re connecting broadcast equipment, instruments for your band or your high end entertainment system, Monoprice has the interconnect cables for you.

Balanced audio cables utilize impedance balanced lines that reduce EM and RF noise and extend the effective range of the cable run.  Additionally, unlike standard unbalanced RCA interconnects that utilizes their braid as a signal return, balanced cables have a separate braided shield to provide additional resistance to interference without modulating the interference into the signal. This prevents ground loop issues.

XLR to 1/4" TRS balanced pro audio cables provide high fidelity and eliminate noise in the recording studio and on the stage. Our new Permier Series cables up the ante in terms of construction quality and performance.

Terrible Cable. Don't waste your money.

Pros: They produce sound.

Cons: Sound produced is low quality, weak, hard to hear.

The only reason I give this cable a 3 instead of 1 is because they do produce A sound, but it is not a good one. Perhaps there is an imbalance of impedance or something, I don't know, but you would be better off buying a real mic cable and purchasing a balanced adapter. I bought two of these and both sounded awful. Monoprice customer service was great and replaced both of them without question, but the brand new ones sound just as awful.

Thank you for your review and my apologies for the inconvenient experienced faced with PID 4769. If I may ask, what devices were you looking to connect with these cables? If possible, please provide the makes and models of each. Do you happen to have any other XLR to 1/4" cables that this setup has worked properly with? Please let me know so we can best assist you in resolving this issue. I am truly sorry again for any trouble this has caused and thank you in advance.

Hi Gabby,
I am trying to use these cables for recording from a microphone into my multitrack cassette recorder. The main microphone I have been using is an Audio-Technica m4000s, but it has the same effect with other mics that I have. The 4-track I use is a Tascam 414 Portastudio. I have a standard XLR to XLR mic cable that I have been using with a balanced XLR to 1/4" adapter, which works WAY better than the monoprice cables. The signal is much more powerful and sounds better overall. Thanks.

I apologize for the delayed response. Thank you so much for all of the provided information! I have submitted a complaint regarding this for our product team to investigate further. It is possible that a bad batch went out recently and that the wiring was done incorrectly. I also wanted to mention that this is the first time I have personally heard of this issue. We truly value your time and feedback as this will help us continue to resolve issues and bring in higher quality products.

For now, I can assist you in setting up a return RMA for store credit. I would be unable to set it as a refund as we are far out of the 30-day return policy, sorry to say. Please let me know if you would like to proceed and I will get that going right away. Thank you and I hope this helps!

Store credit would be just fine, as I am a regular customer and would have no problem using it for other items! Thank you for the great customer service!

Pros: Solid construction
Heavy gauge wire

I needed an XLR-to-3.5mm cable, which is very difficult to find, so instead I purchased this along with a 1/4inch-to-3.5mm adapter.

not what we needed

Pros: this cord was to be an add on with my husband's microphone I ordered at Christmas. The sales lady I spoke with was certain this is what we needed.

Cons: Well, sales lady was wrong, and we received the wrong cord. It wasn't very expensive, so, it wasn't worth the bother to send it back and pay for the shipping.
