    Instrument Cable Review

Pros: Excellent quality and sound. Excellent value for the price.

Cons: Only available plug options appear to be right angle to right angle, or straight plug to straight plug. I would like to see a right angle to straight plug option as well.

Great cables. Build is heavy duty and tone are great. Excellent value. There are applications where a cable with a right angle plug to a straight plug configuration would be preferable, i.e., guitar jack to amp, mixer to monitor. Would love to see cables with that plug configuration.

    Noisey - unusable

    Pros: they are cheap

Cons: Heavy, bulky, noisy at the slightest touch, screw together connectors.

I purchased 10, 25 and 35 foot cords and they all make noise if you move them or touch them. You could never use these for recording or performance because unless you can remain 100% still you get extraneous noise coming through your amp. They are also very heavy and bulky - no reason for that. These do not meet the quality I've come to expect from Monoprice.

Waiting for the 3rd Cable to Short out

Pros: Nice cables with what seems to be good connectors. Easy to coil and handle.

Cons: Highly prone to shorting out.

I have ordered 3 of these cables now. The first two shorted out between one of the center conductors (there are two) and the ground. I'm waiting to see how long the third lasts. I originally thought that the short may have been in the connector. Since the cable cost vs shipping cost was not worth sending the cable back (shorted beyond 30 day return) I took the connector apart and found all connections were good. Further destructive testing proved the short to be somewhere in the cable.
