1.5ft Premier Series 1/4-inch (TS) Male to Male 16AWG Audio Cable (Gold Plated)

Connect sound components and other audio equipment with this Premium 1/4" TS Patch Cable from Monoprice!

This unbalanced cable uses 16 AWG stranded, pure copper conductors and employs copper braid shielding with 97.5% coverage to ensure that stray radio frequency and electromagnetic signals do not degrade the audio quality of your performance. The plugs are gold plated to provide smooth, corrosion-free connections as well as maximum electrical conductivity.

Note that this cable is intended for general audio use. For high-end, low-noise performance and recording use we recommend our Cloth Series cables, PIDs 601410, 601415, and 601420.

    My iPod solution, actually
I suppose most people might buy this cable for connecting effects pedals or in effects patch panels, but my application has been as a cable between my guitar and my iRig HD, into an iPad. Since I don't need to be across the room let alone across a stage, this works fine as a short cable when I want to use Amplitube or iStroboSoft while working on my guitars or just couch jamming. I picked this up about four months ago and it's worked out quite well.

PROS: Sturdy build, classy look, no excess clutter at this length

    CONS: None so far

    Great Value
I now buy all my audio and video cables at Monoprice. Top notch quality, quick shipping, and the low prices more than offset the nominal shipping charges.

But the primary reason is the value - high quality shielding and molding for connectors at a very low price.

Don't let the audio-video brick and mortar stores rip you off when you can get premium quality cables at Monoprice for a fraction of the cost.

It works just fine and there are zero problems. The only concern I have is how the gold plating will react with non-gold plated connectors. While gold-plating does give less signal attenuation compared to standard connectors, most professional audio equipment is not gold-plated. So a gold-plated connector mated with a standard connector will, over time (like months or years), cause slight corrosion between the two metals. In general it's better to mate like metals.

I am using this cable for event audio recordings. The events and locations change every week so the equipment is constantly being plugged/unplugged so there is never any time for corrosion to build up. This cable is excellent for that since it is very sturdy and inexpensive enough that it's cheaper to replace than repair.

However if you intend to plug the cable in and leave it alone for many years, then get a standard metal plug (which costs more).

Used to connect my amp chanels
Used a a patch cable between two channels on my power amp, output from channel A to input on Channel B.

PROS: I needed to connect my two chanels from my amp to a single signal, works flawlessly.

    Awesome
I find these cables to be much better than the discount cables at music stores. I now use them solely in my guitar set up. I just wish there was a shorter 3"- 6" to connect multiple foot pedals with.

PROS: Great build quality. No Buzz.

    Actually amazing.
These cables sound like cables that would easily go for $50.00 and up, but they're dirt cheap. So believe me when I say that I was skeptical when I first bought them, but I figured that they're so cheap, even if they suck, it wouldn't have taken that big a chunk out of my wallet. I'm glad I gave them a chance. What first surprised me when I pulled them out of the package was their heft. They're well made and they feel well made. The second and very pleasant surprise was when I plugged them in and found no noise, only pure guitar sound. These cables carry the lows and highs wonderfully. I basically use these cable for patch cables. My patch cables before were always cheapies and they brought the overall sound of my setup down. These cables however carry a pure signal through and through with no dropped frequencies.

My only complaint is that they are gold plated. I recently discovered that gold plating is useless unless you gold plate absolutely every input, output, and cable you own. I was gonna give them a 9 for that, but the price MORE than makes up for it, so these cables definitely deserve the 10.

PROS: Great sound quality and great build quality.

    CONS: Gold plated.

    Good Cable, Great Price
This is like most of the other products I get from Monoprice: Economical and dependable. Great value. Sure, every once in a while a manufacturing defect pops up, but over the long haul Monoprice products are great bread and butter everyday values. I recommend this cable...don't be a cable snob!

    PROS: Quality materials
    Dependable
    Economical
