    Good and bad

Pros: Very solid. These seem like they could support house.

Cons: Very difficult to move poles up or down. I know about the air cushion thing when moving them down, but at least on mine it's a workout getting them to move in either direction. Also the very flimsy plastic cords that attach the pins to the poles readily broke, and one pin got lost. I ended up buying two ringed cotter pins from Lowes and attaching them to the pole with paracord.

Overall I wish I had submitted for an RMA when I could have, but I (stupidly) tried to make do and I've now had them over a year. Have had such difficulty with them that I recently relegated them to the band's practices only (so I don't have to set them up or take them down) and bought a new pair of another brand for gigs.

    Pros: None currently.

Cons: Broken out of the box.

I had originally purchased one set of these speaker stands and as indicated by my other review, a key component of the moving pieces was broken, which caused trouble with them working properly. Monoprice created an RMA for a replacement and once they received the defective stands, they send out a replacement very quickly. The problem is, the replacement was worse off than the 1st set that I received.

One of the knobs was broken half off, and one of the pegs that I had issues with on the previous set already seemed to be breaking off.

I am unsure if anything can be done at this point because in the RMA section of the site, it shows that one was already done. I am really just wanting a full refund at this time and I will go with another set of speaker stands.

    Hi Abe,

I truly apologize for the condition that the replacement stands arrived in. If I may ask, can you send me pictures of the broken knob and peg? Unfortunately, since we are a couple of months out of the 30 day return policy, I will be unable to setup a refund. What I can do is setup an return for store credit, though. If you would like to proceed with that option, please let me know and I will get that going right away. Thank you and I hope this helps.

    Pros: Very sturdy, good construction.

Cons: Rubber feet seem too thin, will probably wear out really quick.

I would definitely recommend these. They are great looking. Only on is rubber feet, see above.

    Pros: Price

    Cons: No bag

This my second set of these stands, it's hard to beat the price, which is why I came back for another set. I've used better, easier to use, stronger, taller, etc, etc, stands before, but never for this price. A gig bag for these would make these more desirable to more people. To purchase a bag for these stands will cost you as much as the stands themselves.

    Great stands for the price

Pros: Well-built and sturdy, easy to use, cost

Cons: Holes not all drilled properly for he price should have included a carrying bag

These are fine stands and should hold up to regular use in many settings. I used them to hold 2 mid-size PA speakers, about 20 lbs each. It takes only a couple of minutes to loosen the set screws, unfold the feet, raise the stand to the desired height, and use the lock pin to hold the stand at the right height.

These speakers are heavier than I need, but that means they'll last a long time. I'm very pleased.

My only minor issues are that some of the holes were not drilled properly so I had to work at them for a bit so I could insert the locking pin, and (2) for the price I would have hoped for a heavy-duty nylon carrying bag. Other vendors sell comparable stands with an included bag.

These are minor, though. The stands are very good!
