Ordered this microphone because of the price and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this mic. It is replacing an $80 mic from a music shop and has the same heavy weight feel and quality sound at a fraction of the price.

    Pros: Nice, clear, full sound
    Good intelligeability
    Unreal price

    Cons: None

I don't know who makes these mics for Monoprice or where they come from. I can't even open up the capsule to see what it looks like but I have to be honest here - I have used a Blue Encore 100, Samson Q7, and a Behringer XM8500 and this thing is better than all of them. I don't know how they do it. I bought it when they were on sale for $9.00 just for fun and curiosity but I am truly blown away. I see Monoprice has other new mics on the way and I can't wait to try them!. The switch noise others have talked about means nothing to me as I have never used an on/off switch on a mic before anway - in fact I wish they made one with no switch at all.

Pros: Durable, sound good, and a great price

    Cons: Loud switch

These microphones worded great from the moment I got them, The switch is a little loud but live music, who uses the on/off switch. Just ordered 2 more for my wife for work. Just waiting to see what else works great for 1/8th the cost!!

    Pros: Solidly built
    Great performance
    Outstanding price

Cons: "Pops" terribly if turned on/of while input is active

I added this mic to Monoprice's small all-in-one PA system, and, overall, I am very pleased with it. Mine does make the horrendous "pop" if the mic is hot when you switch it on or off. Like others, I just plug it in/turn it on while the mic input is turned all the way down, and then turn the input up once it's on. Simply reverse procedure for turning it off. Aside from that, it's a very good, solidly built mic for the price.
