California Classic Solid Body Electric Guitar - White

You know it when you hear it. That distinctive California Classic sound made famous by artists like Dick Dale, David Gilmour, and Ritchie Blackmore. Whether it is the surf, blues, psychedelic rock, country, or classic hard rock, this California Classic Solid Body Electric Guitar from Monoprice is the perfect axe for your daily practice and performance needs.

This full-sized, 22-fret guitar features a double-cutaway body made of basswood, a bolt-on maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and chrome machine heads/tuning pegs. It uses three single-coil pickups in the bridge, middle, and neck positions. A five-position selector switch allows you to use each of the three pickups individually, while the 2 and 4 positions combine the neck and bridge pups with the middle one for that distinctive "quack" sound. A tremolo/whammy bar is included for note bending.

Before it gets shipped to you, each Monoprice guitar undergoes a setup, tuning, and inspection process by Master Luthier Roger Gresco here in Southern California. The setup ensures that the neck is straight, the action is right, and that it will stay in tune. Additionally, it comes with everything you need to get started, including strings (installed), the tremolo/whammy bar, a heavy-duty zippered black gig bag with shoulder strap, and a truss-rod wrench.

Pros: Best Value I have seen, unbeatable in a Budget guitar, Nice sound and Playability, Better than a Fender Squire, and is very nicely made.

    Cons: could not find any

Great Guitar for a Cheap Price, Stays in tune, sounds great and is a nicely made Axe. Guitar was almost tuned when unpacked, intonation was good, Sound quality was nice, very Stratocaster Like tone, for a lower priced instrument.

Pros: Quality for the price. Set up was pretty good. Not fancy but functional.

Cons: For $ 75.00 ? Not much...... Maybe new strings after a while.

I bought this guitar with discounts on sale for under $ 75.00 shipped. I have a MIM Fender Strat and this MONO guitar is close in feel to that. The set up was almost as good. Build quality was nice w/ no blems. The sound was brighter. Not sure if it's the pick-ups or the Basswood body.
If your looking for a beginner to advanced beginner guitar, this may be the one. For the price, it can't be beat. I own a couple PRS guitars too and for the money( 1/10th), the MONO is worth it.
I was worried it wouldn't stay in tune or the Chinese craftsmanship would be a problem but it hasn't been at all.

Pros: Great guitar for a great price!

    Cons: None!

I bought 2 of these for my kids to learn, and now I want to buy a Tele and Les Paul for me! I have 2 of the real deal and the Monoprice guitars are great right out of the box. The problem with inexpensive guitars is intonation, and both were spot on right out of the box. Setup was great. Frets could use a little buffing on one but the other was fine. If that's your only complaint about a sub-$100 guitar, that's unreal.

Pros: Nice build-very much like what it is copying.....

Cons: Neck needs a little sanding with 600 cheap and easy..forget this is a negative

Whammy bar is too far out on to body to get effective control of the bends.....this part needs some work

Well worth the money spent-great for students, for modding, for just taking to a gig and not worrying much about what happens in the midst of crowd frenzy

    Great Guitar for the Money

Pros: Bought it on sale just to have a back-up. Hoping it would be a decent guitar. I have a Strat Standard now. I was surprised at the quality of this Guitar.Right out of the box it was set up well. The sound is good too. I have an older Squire I bought cheap and this is so far above that in quality, sound and price.

    Cons: None

Buy two and give the other away........or not.
