    ATX Mid-Tower LED + Fan Controller Gaming Case - .8mm Chassis + 5Fans - Black

If you're looking to build a new gaming rig or upgrade your existing machine, you need a high quality case that includes all the latest connectivity features and has enough room for future expansion. In short, you need this ATX Mid-Tower Case from Monoprice!

This case is designed to give maximum cooling and provide maximum space for high-quality gaming components. It is water-cooling ready with four rubber aperture ports on the back for routing water cooling pipes. For ordinary cooling needs it comes with five 120mm cooling fans pre-installed, two on the top, two in the front, and one in upper rear. The front and top fans feature red LED lighting, which can be turned on and off using a separate LED switch on the top control panel.

The fans are divided into three groups, each of which is controlled by a switch that allows them to be turned off or set to low or high speed operation. An additional 120mm cooling fan (not included) can be installed in the bottom of the case, in front of the power supply mount. Removable dust filters are included for the two front fans, for the optional bottom fan location, and at the rear of the case floor for the power supply's internal fan. A spare set of dust filters for the front fans is included.

The case is compatible with ATX and Micro ATX motherboards with up to eight expansion slots. It uses an ATX 12V form factor power supply mounted in the bottom of the case (power supply not included). It is constructed of heavy-duty 0.8mm steel and measures 20.1" x 9.1" x 20.7" (510 x 232 x 526 mm) (LWH). It has three externally accessible 5.25" drive bays and eight internal 3.5" drive bays, which can also accommodate 2.5" drives.

The 5.25" drive bays feature two large thumbscrews, so you can install optical drives without using screws or tools. The internal drive bays use plastic mounting trays, which are designed to mount a 3.5" internal drive without requiring screws or tools of any kind. Four small buttons on the inside of the tray mate with the screw holes to provide a secure mount for a 3.5" drive.

The trays can also accommodate 2.5" drives, but you need to use the included mounting screws to affix the drive to the bottom of the tray. The trays are also designed to allow mounting of 80mm and 90mm cooling fans for direct cooling of individual drives or to provide additional drive bay cooling.

Internally the case provides 11.8" (300mm) of VGA clearance. If the middle drive bay is removed the VGA clearance increases to 16.9" (430mm), enough to mount even the largest video cards. Unlike most cases with an unfinished, silver interior, the inside of this case is painted black, which provides better contrast for internal LED lighting.

The removable left side panel features a large, transparent window, which allows the components and internal lighting to be seen. The top mounted control panel features the LED, power, and reset switches. Additionally it includes two USB 2.0, two USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 3.5mm microphone jack, and a card reader that is compatible with full sized SD, MMC, and Memory Stick cards.

All of the included screws feature a black finish so that they blend into the case when installed. In addition to the mounting screws, the case comes with anti-vibration rubber rings, a motherboard speaker, hook-and-loop cable ties, wire cable ties, and a support bracket for extended length video cards.

Pros: Plenty of 3.5" HDD space
    Well ventilated with filters
    Includes whisper quiet fans

I love this case, especially for this price. It has plenty of hard drive slots and room to spare for cable management. The window is really cool and I love the fact that it has a built-in fan controller. I don't really miss having the motherboard control the case fans.

    Decent case w/lots of room

Pros: Fairly well constructed case although not quite on par with some of the premium cases out there, The fan filters are easy to remove, clean and reinstall. Cable management is easy. Good air flow. Room for lots of drives. You can easily turn those ridiculous fan LED's off (or on if you like that sort of thing). And unlike many other Monoprice products, the LED's are NOT blindingly bright.

Cons: A matter of personal taste, but I don't like power switches on the top of the case. It's just too easy for cats to step on them.
Card reader does not accept CF cards.

I'm using this case for an unRAID box and with the addition of a 3x5.25 to 4x3.5 hot plug cage I have room for 12 drives which for my current requirements is plenty.
And with 12 drives running, good airflow is vital... This case provides that.
I thought I would like the fans to be connected to the motherboard, but in use, the control switch setup is not really a problem. The fans are quiet enough to run at high speed without sounding like a jet fighter.

    Great value

    Pros: Plenty of airflow.
Room for more drives than you can afford.
Filters for the front fans, top fans, and bottom fans.
Can independently control fan speeds (L,H,off) for top fans, front fans, and rear fan.
Plenty of room under the back panel for cable management, and neat channels for cables.

Cons: Minor damage in shipping. The box was torn up and taped over when I got it, and the case was dented inward on the back side, right above where the power supply mounts. But a little bending made it almost like new. Installing a power supply keeps it from bending there. It wasn't enough damage to make me concerned about cards fitting in the motherboard.

This is a great case, and well built.

The side panel was actually smoke tint, which looks pretty cool.

I do have one correction. It actually turns out to be better than as described. The description said "A spare set of dust filters for the front fans is included." The filters are washable, so you don't need a spare set. This spare set is actually for the top fans. You can flip the top fans over and have them be filtered intake, instead of exhaust. The "spare" dust filters had magnets that lined up with the fan mounting screws on the top. So they're really easy to take off and clean. I know they're not for the front fans because they're a completely different style than the front fan filters.

Pros: USB 3.0 on the case. Ports and buttons on the top. Cover for the ports when not in use. Lots of room for expansion. Easy to be able to tie the cables up and not have them so messy in the case. The lights on the fans. Comes with five fans. Can control the fan speed and lights with a button.

    Cons: None

Highly recommended. Keeps my system below 100 F. Nice and quite and fun to look at the lights.

Pros: Tons of space for hard drives, disk drives, GPU, fans, etc.

Cons: Wish better instructions were included. Also wish it was possible/straightforward to connect the fans directly to the motherboard instead of needing manual control.

I have been using this case for a year and am happy with performance and quality.
