5-Button Optical Laser Gaming Mouse - Black

Get the edge on the competition with this 5-Button Laser Gaming Mouse from Monoprice!

Unlike normal optical mice, which use LEDs for illuminating the sensor, this mouse uses a laser diode for improved sensitivity and accurate tracking on all surfaces. The 5-button design includes the standard left/right/wheel buttons, plus an additional pair on the left side of the mouse. By default these two extra buttons perform "forward" and "backward" functions in browsers, but they can be custom configured within individual games.

The mouse also features a soft-touch, silky-smooth, rubber coated upper surface and an etched side for improved grip. The left-side of the mouse includes a small protrusion on which you can rest your thumb. A pair of buttons on the upper surface of the mouse allow you to adjust the sensitivity/dpi setting of the mouse on the fly (800, 1600, 2400, or 3400 dpi), so you can have it fast when you want need better response and slow it down when you need more precision.

The weight of the mouse can be custom configured by removing one or more of the five 4-gram metal discs inside the removable weight tower. A white LED inside the mouse cycles through various colors, which emit from the transparent plastic ring around the weight tower.

No installation or drivers are required. Just plug it in and it works!

Fixed Right-Click Issue

Pros: Look and feel
Button placement
DPI switch
Have bought 3 of them so far

Cons: Longevity

For anyone having trouble with the right-click and scroll-wheel-click shifting the aim in games:

I tried several fixes, but the one that worked was uninstalling the driver, not from the device manager, but from the uninstall programs application. This driver software creates an additional program that sits in your system tray. It's called "mouse" or something simple like that, and will be in the Uninstall Programs menu as "mouse driver."

As I've been using this mouse for a few years, whatever driver I had previously installed worked as soon as I had uninstalled the extra program. Early versions of this driver might be better than newer versions. If you're still having trouble getting buttons 4 and 5 to work, though, I'm not sure how to help you.

Great Buy

Pros: Good size, easy install, fits great in hand, sleek looks.

Cons: Uses more power from your "USB" port than normal ports, recommend using a hub with its own DC power as the power from the computers power supply maynot be sufficient. Depending on how many USB Devices you're running.

Nice mouse, I got mine for about 12 bucks and worth every penny. Mouse feels great on my adult hand. The color changing LED doesn't do squat for the mouse but looks cool, although you maybe drawing more power from your power supply so keep that in mind. Over all, its a great value.

Pros: It forms to my hand really well.
Moves nicely over my mouse pad, leather mouse pad.

Cons: Not able to access my drivers after installing them onto my computer from the disc and the website!
Because this, the movement speed is way to fast to do normal tasks. Apart from gaming, even though I play primarily RPG's (Divinity: Original Sin shameless plug).

Never-mind, I'm an idiot!

Not a bad mouse...but not the most durable

Pros: Good Fit

Cons: Button configuration is strange.
Buttons don't last

I have used this mouse at work for about 1.5 years of heavy use. It is a comfortable fit and has worked well. Recently the left click has started to become less responsive. It is especially noticeable when dragging windows. it has become enough of a problem that I I am going to have to replace it.
