    *** NEWS FLASH! ***

If you're a serious gamer or professional graphic artist, you need a seriously good monitor and you won't find much better than this 27" IPS-ZERO-G Monitor from Monoprice!

The heart of this monitor is the brilliant display panel made by LG. This panel features a maximum brightness level of 440cd/m², a tight 2560x1440 maximum resolution, and up to 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It features a 178° viewing angle in both the horizontal and vertical planes. The monitor is primarily intended for use with the Dual Link DVI-D interface, but a VGA interface is included as a backup.

The display is housed in an ultra-thin bezel with a glossy glass, anti-glare laminate that extends to the very edge of the bezel, for a clean, modern appearance. Responding to criticisms monitor's casing, we've upgrade it to an all metal case. The fixed plastic stand was replaced with a heavy-duty metal reinforced stand, which can be detached by removing a single screw. The monitor also sports a 100x100 VESA mounting pattern, making it compatible with most wall and desk mounts.

We also improved the interface to the monitor in two ways. First, we moved the connectors from the bottom of the panel, which offered too little room for maneuver, to the side, which makes it much easier to see and access the connections. We also improved the menu control buttons by making them larger, with greater spacing, and made the power button a different shape so that it is easy to distinguish by feel alone.

We are standing behind this monitor with a 5-dead-pixel warranty for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. If you can count five dead pixels, we'll send you a replacement.

    Features:

    Great, crisp monitor
I love this monitor. It is bright and has shows color well. It is a great size, and was a great value for the price paid. No bad pixels. Only downside is the inferior stand.

    PROS: Bright, clear, consistent color

    CONS: Flimsy, unreliable stand

Great picture and what a value. the front of the case actually looks apple like because of the front glass. Even has what llooks like a webcam hole just like the imac though there in nothing there. Compared it to my 27 inch iMac and it had no more light bleed around the bottom than the mono price monitor. My imac actually had a little more. I would even say it looks better than the imac because the glass cover is closer to the actual lcd than it is on the imac.. You cant go wrong
    .
Forget about the cinema display or thunderbolt save your money and buy this one if all you want is a good monitor.

    PROS:

GREAT PICTURE QUALITY. GAVE IT A 9 BECAUSE OF THE BASE COULD BE NICER BUT PICTURE QUALITY IS A 10!!

CONS: they could have made the base a little nicer looking though its sturdy enough you will not have any issues.

The only downside is the Dual Link DVI and VGA inputs. No HDMI. Works great at full resolution with VGA connection on my HP laptop!

    PROS: Great monitor. Superb picture!

    CONS: Limited inputs

    Great value
This monitor is an incredible value for the price. On a totally black screen, you get a lot of backlight bleeding around the edges, so I wouldn't recommend using it as a video monitor for watching movies (you will never notice it in typical computer use), but other than that the picture is great. The base connection is a bit weak even with it tightened as much as I can manage, it lets the monitor tilt a bit over time, but it isn't a big deal. I didn't have to adjust it much to get the calibration right - the 6500K color temperature setting was pretty close to ideal out of the box, which is better than most monitors I have worked with.

PROS: Price, decent calibration out of the box, crisp output, no dead pixels

CONS: Base mounting is weak, poor black levels, backlight bleeding

    Excellent Monitor
This is a great monitor, and it comes at a great price. I use an Apple Thunderbolt display at work and wanted to duplicate my work environment at home. This monitor is just as clear, just as fast, and just as bright at the Apple monitor at half the price. I have had no problems with the display at all.
The only downside is connectivity. This monitor only had DVI-D and RGB, and to hook it up to my MacBook Air meant I had to purchase a converter from Monoprice. The converter requires a USB port on the Mac, which is a drag. I wish I had spent a little more to get the same monitor with an HDMI port, which has an easier conversion to Thunderbolt.

PROS: Sharp, excellent color, excellent refresh rates, all around excellent high-end monitor.

    CONS: Connectivity

    Great monitor
Overall, I'm very impressed with this monitor. The downside, and why I knocked 1 star off of my review, is the backlight bleeding. This is very noticeable if you're watching a video or working on any sort of darker background if the color is all the same. That being said, I was able to improve this quite a bit by just reducing the brightness (this thing is really bright).

Although some have mentioned that the stand is not great, I really don't have a problem with it at all suits my needs just fine. The monitor itself is very stylish and thin. The glass panel extends al the way to the edge of the monitor which gives it a nice clean look (note, the screen itself doesn't go to the edge, but the glass top layer) and the brushed aluminum along the bottom is a nice touch.

    PROS: Great Price
    High Resolution
    Thin
    Stylish

    CONS: Definite backlight bleeding

Buy it now!! (or as soon as it's back in stock)
What can I say that hasn't been said already? I hemmed and hawed for months before finally ordering a pair of these and all I can say is that I'm bummed I waited so long. These replaced a mismatched pair of 1920x1200 LCDs (27 and 24") as I needed more real estate. With the way I needed the monitors setup for viewing, I was on the hook to either buy 4x24" panels for a 2x2 grid, or go with 1440/1600p panels. I do not regret this decision for a fraction of a second. Next to each other, the colors and brightness are a perfect visual match and, as I said in my "Pros" - there is nary a dead pixel in either panel.

There is an inconsequential amount of light bleed as others have stated, but only noticeable with a dark background and in the dark. It is rare that my eyes train to the edges of the panels anyway, so this is of no concern to me.

For those who will be using an active display port adapter (powered by USB, in my case)... with Windows 8 I do not have an issue when coming back from sleep or hibernate. The monitor, on occasion, may take an extra second or two to display an image but not a big deal. However, using the exact same PC with OSX 10.6 loaded on it (Hackintosh), 99% of the time I had to unplug the adapter (and power), sometimes multiple times in a row, before the image would come back. I was going to try and use an externally powered USB hub to see if that helped, but decided to go back to Windows so I don't know for sure if that would have fixed it.

Bottom line: If you're using native a DVI-D port, you're golden. If you have to use a converter (and a Mac), either don't use sleep/hibernate or make sure the back panel of your Mac is easily accessible.

PROS: Quality display, nice case, 1440p, not a single dead pixel (and I bought two).

    CONS: No DisplayPort

    Great monitor, great price
Exceptional value. You won't be sorry.

PROS: Exceptionally good monitor, superb resolution and bright, vibrant colors at an incredible price.

CONS: Minor: no HDMI input use with ultrabook requires adaptor.

    Great Display!
This is a great monitor especially for the price. I have it sitting next to an Apple Cinema Display and I can't tell the difference in visuals across the two monitors.

    PROS: -Thin

    - Beautiful color reproduction

    - Fast enough for full resolution gaming

    - Metal case

    - Edge to edge glass

CONS: - Include VESA screws are too short for my mount.

    Awesome
What can I say? Very impressed. The metal on the back of the monitor has the same fit/feel to the apple counterpart... only its black! It even looks like they may be using the same glass as there is a hole for the camera (but no camera) - which is fine, I prefer buying a decent webcam anyways.
Super bright, no dead pixels. Worth every penny. Too bad Canadian shipping isn't cheaper, had to drive down to the states for it. I was a tool and plugged it into the wrong DVI port and thought I couldn't get higher than 1080p.. couldn't find drivers, etc. Plugging it into the correct port fixed this, no drivers required.

    PROS: - Super Bright
    - No dead pixles
    - Wicked Awesome
    - Love the metal backing.
    - huge

CONS: - If you plug it into the wrong DVI port on your gfx and you didn't know that the wrong port only did 1080p you only get 1080p and its frustrating..... :-/ (PEBKAC)
    - Base is the 'cheapest' part of the monitor, but i don't mind it... better yet, grab a mount.
    - Screen has 'hole' for a camera, but no camera (likely using the same 'Apple' glass)
    - Some apps can't handle more than 1080p so their menu fonts look blurry (firefox for some reason)
    - Monitor is so bright that in a dark room or covered keyboard you require backlit keys
    - You may get a tan from this thing
