Wireless Trackball Mouse Laser Presenter 2.4GHz Presenter - (Red Laser)

Take control of your meetings and presentations with this Wireless Trackball Mouse Laser Presenter from Monoprice!

The laser presenter syncs to your PC with a simple USB key that is stored behind that battery door. The Wireless Trackball Mouse Presenter is a 5-in-1 product integrating an optical trackball mouse, laser pointer, PowerPoint slide control, multimedia remote control, and LED flashlight. Thus enabling you to easily navigate your desktop, pause and resume slide shows, as well as easily launch different applications or move between them.

The front of the device has a scrollable wheel to move the mouse, and beneath it are the Left and Right click buttons. On the right side of the device is a wheel with 3 functions. It can move forward in slides by pressing Up, backwards by pressing Down, and if clicked in it will go back about 2-3 slides per second for each second it is held down.

Beneath the wheel on the right side of the device is a Mode button which enables you to switch between the default Presentation Mode, and a Multimedia Mode. Multimedia Mode disables the laser pointer and enables you to use the buttons on the presenter to adjust volume, pause, play, and change channels.

    Love the trackball
I've had one for about six months and then purchased another one. It does everything I wanted to and is an expensive. The trackball is very helpful

PROS: The trackball works great. It's inexpensive. It has a lot of features for a pointer

CONS: A slight learning curve is required

I realize that this is supposed to take place of a mouse, but the fact is most people will use it for a presentation remote. Most remotes you press right to go forward and left to go back. Since this is like a mouse, the left button is left click and right button is right click. This isn't as intuitive as one might think, and since we are using it for multiple presenters who come to our facility, they don't work for us.

But, the function is good and it does accomplish what it sets out to accomplish.

PROS: Lots of features. Functions well.

CONS: Forward button on left, back button on right.

    Mind-boggling oversights in design
This thing is cool inasmuch as it allows you to have mouse control (including trackball, and left/right click). But you can't use this as a simple "forward/backward" slide advance device. It's just a really inexcusable oversight in the design of this unit. Why not have a mode in which the left and right mouse buttons act as normal forward & backward slide advance buttons? Honestly, just a mind-boggling design oversight.

PROS: Acts as a full mouse

    CONS: Feels cheaply made
    Doesn't allow Forward/Backward slide advancing

    Too flimsy
After using it for about two months, it just stopped working. Batteries are not the issue, so it is beyond my capabilities to fix. If I wanted just a laser pointer, things would be fine, but I need a remote mouse. Unfortunately, that aspect of the device - the one most important aspect - is no longer functional. It's almost worthless to me now.

PROS: Good for presentations and classrooms if it works properly

    CONS: Cheaply made

    Doesn't function properly overall
