2 Channel Bluetooth Amplifier - 40 Watts - NO LOGO

You'll get big sound and functionality in a small package when you use this 2-Channel Bluetooth® Amplifier from Monoprice!

This stereo amplifier delivers 20-watts per channel into 4-ohm loads, which is more than enough to drive most bookshelf speakers. It can also be bridged to produce 40 watts into a single 8-ohm load. It features a -95dB signal-to-noise ratio and a 20Hz to 20kHz (-3dB) frequency response.

The amp features two line level inputs (one RCA, the other 3.5mm TRS), as well as Bluetooth connectivity, so you can wirelessly stream music from your phone. It has a built in microphone and the Bluetooth HFP profile, allowing it to be used to answer or reject incoming phone calls.

The included IR remote control allows you to select the source, control the volume level, set mute on/off, power the unit on/off, adjust the balance, and adjust the treble and bass response. You can also control the amplifier using an RS-232 connection from a PC. The manual includes all the codes necessary for full RS-232 control.

It has an optional loudness circuit, which dynamically boosts the low and high frequencies at low volume levels. It also features an optional limiter circuit, which reduces input sensitivity as the amp approaches maximum output level, thereby preventing distortion and clipping.

    Blue tooth isn't there yet

Great idea but not there yet. My unit had a repeated pooping on blue tooth paired playback. The issue occurs with ios and android paired devices. It does not seem to be related to the attached speakers, the connected device or the physical location of the amp. There is also a the blue tooth pairing tone that reoccurs throughout playback when a blue tooth device is connected. I was able to fix the tone issue by repairing devices but not the popping.

    Hello,

Thank you for your review and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered with the item. To verify have you also tried a different set of media to playback on this amplifier? Does the popping still occur? Have you also tried the changing the equalizer settings? Please let me know, thank you!

    Suits my needs

Pros: Compact, easy install and connect to speakers, good sound

Cons: Bluetooth is disappointing, selection dial a little funky

Amp arrived on time and was easy to set up. Plugged in my iPod or tablet (Samsung Tab 3) into the amp, through to my JBL bookshelf speakers and the music sounds great. Bluetooth is another matter. As others have written, it will connect in a snap but every few seconds here comes the annoying reconnect tone. I've reset the connection a number of times and still the same. Not a deal breaker for me as I was looking for an easy solution to play music from my music players without the added expense and hassle of purchasing a stereo or home theater receiver. The main dial is a bit funky when manually increasing/decreasing volume. Instead of a steady up/down volume per turn, the dial will go an extra couple of stops before the sound goes up or down. Again, not a big deal but could be better.

    Fixing the Bluetooth

    Pros: Great little am

    Cons: None

Love this little amp but was having the same do-do-do pairing tone every 20 seconds when connected via bluetooth. Finally found the problem. On my surface pro 3 I had to shut the "Bluetooth Discovery Service" off and it stopped. You need to go into System, Services and disable this and the bees will stop!

Pros: The amp is nice and small and sounds very nice when it doesn't have annoying DO-DO-DO sound every 20 seconds.

Cons: When I connect to the unit with my surface Pro 3 it has an annoying DO-DO-DO sound every 20 seconds. Makes it impossible to listen to music from my main laptop.

The amp is nice and small and sounds very nice when it doesn't have annoying DO-DO-DO sound every 20 seconds. When I connect to the unit with my surface Pro 3 it has an annoying DO-DO-DO sound every 20 seconds. Makes it impossible to listen to music from my main laptop. If I use my phone to connect it does not have that problem. My surface pro 3 can pair with a portable bluetooth speaker I have and does not do this so I know it is not my surface causing the problem.

    Bluetooth Woes

Pros: None that matter if BT is what you need.

Cons: BT issues.Since this was purchased solely because of the Bluetooth capability, it's useless to me.

Identical to previous posters. Reconnects every 20 seconds or so, producing the 4-note "connect" tone each time. Using iPad 4 with iOS 8.3. Newly configured iPad has never been connected to any other BT devices. Pairs with amp easily and successfully, and audio plays without issue, but is interrupted by the 4-step tone at regular intervals. Distance between iPad and amp does not matter.

    Hello,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 11498. If I may ask, can we turn the iPad's Bluetooth off, restart the iPad, then turn Bluetooth back on? If that does not work, can we try to forget the amp's connection on the iPad? To do this, please go into the Bluetooth settings, tap the Info button next to the amp's profile, then select "Forget This Device" and confirm. Can we also test the amp with a different Bluetooth device just to see if the same issue occurs? Also, has this occurred since you first received the amp? Please let me know so we can look into this matter further. My apologies for the trouble and thank you in advance!
