Z-Wave Motion Detector w/ Temperature Sensor - NO LOGO

Add Z-Wave® functionality to your home security system using this Z-Wave Passive Infrared Motion Detector from Monoprice!

Z-Wave is a low power mesh networking communications technology that allows Z-Wave enabled devices to communicate with each other and to distribute Z-Wave messages throughout to network. This sensor uses an infrared sensor to detect motion and sends Z-Wave signal when motion is detected within its detection range. This trigger signal can then be used to activate various other devices and perform preprogrammed tasks.

This sensor comes with everything you need to install it into an existing Z-Wave network, including adhesive tape and a CR123A battery for power.

Works Great - But no sensitivity adjustment for pets

Pros: Works with Smartthings

Cons: No way to adjust the sensitivity, so it sees my cat
No way to adjust the length of time that it stays 'active'
Does not work fully with WINK (no temperature readings)

I like my sensor, I will be buying more. My biggest complaint, however, is that it sees my cat. So I can't use it to monitor my house for motion when I am away because my cat keeps tripping it.

Also, when it sees motion it stays in 'active motion' setting for 3 minutes. Would be nice if that could be adjusted.

But overall I love this device.

Works great with Smart Things Hub!!

Pros: Easy to setup with Smart Things Hub.
Pretty accurate motion detect and temp.
Light Weight.

Cons: Have to mount to wall or use Velcro to secure as they are light and don't stand up on their own very well.

Honestly, they work as designed, can't complain. Work great with Smart Things.

Works fine for my use case

Pros: Works fine as a temperature sensor

Cons: Poor documentation

My purpose for buying this motion sensor was to use it as temperature sensor. The relay on my garage refrigerator went bad and we did not open the refrigerator for several days. All the food went bad. That is when I decided to get a temperature sensor. I got this motion sensor with temperature sensor. I paired it with ISY994i with Z-wave add-on board. No issues. The device showed up as motion sensor, temperature sensor and as tamper sensor. For last 10 days, it is installed inside the refrigerator and is working just fine. I have created alerts for high temperature and it worked fine in testing. Since I use it only as temperature sensor, I am giving it high rating as it seems to work fine.

Work great, the temperature is an added bonus.

Pros: Will actually work outdoors. Simple to include. Battery seems to last longer than I expected

Cons: You have to plan ahead for how you intend to change the battery. I have been using temporary type methods like velcro and zip ties, but it comes with a sticky paper.

I was already using some of these about the house when I decided they were cheap enough that if the outdoors ate them up, then inexpensive lesson learned. First, I put two in my attic, where the temperatures get pretty hot in Oklahoma. Still working. Then I put two outdoors under awnings. Again, still working. I just ordered some more for additional motion sensing outside. I also have one in the guest room to alert me when they get up so I can start the coffee.

Z-wave motion sensor

Pros: Great price
Easy setup with smartthings (I have v1 hub)
Temp sensor works for me, but doesn't seem to update unless it changes.

Cons: Poor mounting, would much rather use a bracket than tape.
A corner mount would be a nice option
No documentation on the pet modes .
I was planning to have a light triggered by these, but hesitant due to the amount of false triggers.

I've been using 2 of these sensors for about a week now. Setup was very simple with smartthings and shows up as an aeon motion sensor. But I am getting quite a few false triggers. I though it may have been my families cats as we have a 12lb and 17lb. I have tried the settings with no jumper, PET1, and PET2, and I get triggers in all 3 modes. Because I've tried changing the settings multiple times now I've damaged my wall because of the mounting tape.

Thank you for your review on PID 10796. Unfortunately, this sensor is not pet immune so it will not be compatible with the controller's pet settings. My apologies for any inconvenience. If unsatisfied with the sensors and you no longer have a use for them, I can assist you in setting up a return. If you would like to proceed, please let me know and I will get that started.
