Z-Wave Door and Window Sensor - NO LOGO

Add Z-Wave® functionality to your home security system using this Z-Wave Door and Window Sensor from Monoprice!

Z-Wave is a low power mesh networking communications technology that allows Z-Wave enabled devices to communicate with each other and to distribute Z-Wave messages throughout to network. This sensor monitors a door or window and sends a Z-Wave signal when the door or window is opened and closed. This trigger signal can then be used to activate various other devices and perform preprogrammed tasks.

This sensor comes with everything you need to install it into an existing Z-Wave network, including mounting screws, adhesive tape, and a CR123A battery for power.

    Pros: Works with Vera3
    Easy setup

Cons: Price was increased so looking for a better deal now

Purchased 3 of these when they were on sale for $19. Setup was a breeze and syncs easily with My Vera3. Was able to setup open and close notification for text alerts.

Wanted to order more for the windows in my house but the price is now over $24 ??

    False Alarms

    Pros: None.

Cons: Doesn't work consistently, which renders it useless for home security.

I went through 2 different sets of these, linked to my Piper NV. The first set of 2 paired just fine and seemed to work until a little over a month of use. Then I stated getting false alarms every now and then, and then with increasing regularity. I sent them back for replacements, only when I received those and tried one out, it was defective. It paired just fine, but refused to send an "ok" to my Piper. No matter what, it just kept reporting that the switch was open, even though I could hear the magnetic reed switch clicking open and shut when activated by the magnet.

Thank you for your review and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. Just to verify have you tried this with a different Z-wave controller to see if the issues still come up? It may just be your particular Z-wave controller that is having functions problems with this item. Also if you can try pairing as a different device to see if it would work better. Please let me know, thank you!

    False Alert

Pros: Syncs up easily and quickly to SmartThings hub. Works as intended.

Cons: BEWARE of false alerts in cold temps (low 30s). Been getting false reads which is a huge pain as it triggers my alarm.

Not sure if others are experiencing this, but with the colder temps i've had several false alerts. Looking at replacing these now.

Pros: Very simple to install and connect to SmartThings. Great price!

    Cons: None.

I have a total of five of these sensors in use with SmartThings. They work perfect, no issues, very simple to setup. I averaged 10 minutes to unpacking to having installed and enabled on my SmartThings Hub.
