8 Outlet Rotating Surge Strip - 2160 Joules

Protect your electronic equipment from damaging voltage and current spikes with this Monoprice surge protector!

This model features eight protected power outlets, six of which can rotate 180°, which makes them perfect for use with bulky AC power adapters, without blocking adjacent outlets. It is rated for 120V, 15A, 1800 watts and provides up to 2160 Joules of power protection. It can handle up to 144,000A current spikes.

An LED on top illuminates to indicate that the surge protector is providing protection to your equipment. When the protection circuitry has been fully consumed by power and current spikes, the protection light will no longer illuminate, indicating that the surge protector should be replaced. A second LED indicates that the surge protector is plugged into an outlet with a valid ground.

Very happy with this power strip

Pros: Looks nice
Solid build
Holds 8 plugs

It's perfect for use with the 15 foot power cord cables I also purchased at MonoPrice. I'm a DJ and it's perfect for connecting all of my extensions and cords for the lights and speakers and DJ mixer.
I can get my DJ mixer and wireless microphone power adapters in with all of my electric equipment because the sockets turn around.

Pros: I was able to use every outlet, even with a bunch of big plugs that didn't all fit together on my old surge protector.
Outlets stay turned where put them, but are easy enough to move when you want.
Nice solid heft and feel.

Cons: None so far!

Such a clever little idea, but it makes a big difference - I'm pretty short on outlets, so actually being able to fit all my electronics onto one surge protector has made my life a lot easier.

In my office, due to wall warts and other plugs, I had to use two separate power strips to power the various devices. With this one power strip I can now power everything.

Pros: Hard to imagine a scenario where you couldn't fit 6 - 8 "wall wart" adaptors on this strip.
Clear, easy to see power indicator. Sturdy construction.

Cons: Wall mounting slots not suited for vertical alignment. Power button is a little fussy.
Rotation is a little chunky.

Two fixed plugs at the "top," on either side, by the power on/off button. The push-on-push-off action on the power button seems kinda finicky to me, but honestly, how often are you going to be turning 8 things on and off at once?

6 rotating sections don't seem to go quite the full 180 degrees, but it's close enough to not matter. Rotation action is pretty stiff, but in the end it's probably better that way so they don't turn when you don't want them to. Depending on your adaptors, you might have to plan a bit before plugging everything in, but I can't imagine a situation where you couldn't use every single plug.

A pair of little flip out bits on the "bottom" seem to be there as cable guides. They don't do a whole lot if your wires aren't the right weight or going in that direction. But you could certainly use them with a cable tie/wrap if you need it.

There is a wall mount screw slot on each end, slotted so that you can mount it horizontally, with the power cable on either end. The slots aren't suited for vertical mounting (though I'm sure there are those who could make it work).

Pretty happy with the result!

Pros: Compact, solid, good cord length
Full outlet utilization
No need for short extension cords, cube taps, or other wall-wart removers
Great surge specs

Great product. Great design. My new favorite surge strip.
