    HDMI® Extender Using Cat5e or CAT6 Cable - Extend Upto 98ft

Use this simple and effective HDMI® extender to send High Speed (1080p) HDMI® signals up to 30 meters (98 feet) over Cat5e/6 cable!

Most extenders are small boxes, which must be mounted and which require additional cables to use. While they can usually handle longer distances, if you don't need to take the signal more than 30 meters, this simple pair of extender adapters is the right solution.

Each adapter plugs into your HDMI ports, with the sender in the source device and the receiver at the display. Then just run a pair of Cat5e/Cat6 cables between the adapters and you're in business! You won't need to provide external power - it gets the power it needs from the HDMI source device.

The adapters support up to 1080p resolutions and digital audio, including DTS® Digital, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™. They support up to 8-bits per channel (24-bit total) Deep Color and HDCP pass-through.

Note: The packaging for this extender is improperly printed and erroneously identifies this device as a 1x2 Splitter. This is in fact an HDMI extender over Cat5e/6 cable and not a splitter device. Updated packaging is on order and this will be corrected as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may cause.

This is a great way to extend HDMI video throughout the house without having to worry about HDMI cable prices. Not that Monoprice does not offer great prices... But this item truly gave me flexability and room configuration options. We are always changing the layout of the house and love that we can always use the extender between our TV and the computer.

    PROS: Portable, Convenient, and Versatile.

    CONS: None

    works great
    works great.

PROS: tried with 15meters, with a cheat cat5e cable. works like charm. way cheaper than hdmi cable itself.

    Plug n play
I am a custom installer and have used this on several jobs and it works every time.

PROS: Great product works every time.

CONS: You have to know TIE 568 A or B if you are running cat5e and terminating it your self.

    Worked on first try, perfect
This works no problems with about 75' of Cat6 running in-wall and terminated with wall plates on both ends. It's my first time using and pleasantly surprised. I also tested it with 7' patch cords to double check the signal.

    PROS: Budget friendly
    Straight forward use
    No external power source

Works great and WAY cheaper than 100' HDMI cables
I used this for a theater with the A/V equipment about 80' away. Cat5 is easy to get through the conduit and is much cheaper than 100' HDMI cables.
I used Cat5 UTP (Unshielded) to the projector, and it works just fine. Not much else to say!

PROS: No power supply - Completely passive
    Small and easy to hide
Much cheaper than long HDMI cables

CONS: Not really a con, because it's stated in the details - It requires (2) Cat5 cables. It would be nice to see a 1 wire passive HDMI extender, But I don't know if that's even possible.

    Great Little Gadget
Received the HDMI extender promptly from Monoprice. The installation is effortless. Just plug in your cables and hey presto you have HD signal delivered to your second TV. We used Cat6 cable but Cat5e is supposed to work just as well. If you need to send a HDMI signal elsewhere in your house I recommend this extender.

    PROS: Very easy to install

    Works perfectly
Used this to connect a PC (nVidia GeForce 210) to a TV.

Runs at 1080p, along with 2.0 audio. No issues.

Even used 2 mismatched ethernet cables (35' cat5e from scrap, 50' cat6 from Monoprice), also no issues.

I was worried about getting a long HDMI cable (I needed 30') based on various reviews. This has worked perfectly for me.

    PROS: Works perfectly. Nicely priced.

CONS: Have to hide 2 cables instead of 1

    5/5

    PROS: - Low Price

    - Small form factor

    - No External supply needed

    - Plugs directly into HDMI port

CONS: - Don't mix up the sender and receiver, they are not interchangeable.

These are a good buy if you are only using them from a source to a display. They will not work if you run your source to a receiver or switch and then to a display. No fault of Monoprice. They are sold by other companies (exact same ones right down to packaging) and the issue is the same. Can't expect much for under $20.

    PROS: Cheap, easy to use

CONS: Only work from source to display. No IR

PROS: I had a problem getting HDMI connection between new Pioneer AV Receiver and older non HDCP compliant monitor.
