    HDMI® Equalizer Extender Repeater (3.4Gbps) - Extend Upto 114FT

Extend the distance you can run High Speed HDMI® cables with full 1080p support to up to 35 meters with this HDMI repeater!

The adjustable equalizer allows you to tune the performance of the repeater to your specific situation and cable lengths. It will also help reduce the presence of digital noise (aka "sparkles") in the video for a clean and clear picture.

The repeater is compatible with the HDMI 1.3b standard and supports full HDCP pass-through, so you won't have any handshake or copy-protection problems. It supports 12-bit per channel (36-bit total) deep color and high resolution audio, including DTS® Digital, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby True-HD™.

In most cases the repeater draws its operating power from the HDMI cable itself. Only when the input signal is too weak and the voltage falls below 4.75 volts will an optional AC adapter power supply (not included) be required for use. The optional power supply can be any standard 5 VDC, 2A, power adapter with a 5.5 mm outer cylinder size and a 2.5 mm pin size.

A pair of "L" shaped brackets with mounting screws are included, so you can fix this repeater to a flat surface. Above each HDMI connector is anchor nut, allowing you to screw in a locking bracket to keep the HDMI connector from coming loose. The HDMI connectors are gold-plated to ensure maximum signal quality.

The repeater is RoHS compliant. It is UL listed, and is FCC and CE certified.

For installation, the repeater should be placed as close as possible to the destination device (TV). There is no set standard for adjusting the EQ switch because each situation and each piece of equipment varies. Start with the default 0 setting then try increasing the amount of EQ one click at a time until a clean and reliable signal is seen on the TV.

    Features:

    • Supports up to 1080p resolution
    • Supports 225 MHz/2.25 Gbps per channel (6.75 Gbps all channel) bandwidth
    • Supports 12-bt per channel (36-bit all channel) deep color
    • HDCP pass-through
    • Iron Shell for better EMI elimination
    • Supports uncompressed audio, such as LPCM
    • Supports compressed audio, such as DTS® Digital, Dolby® Digital (including DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby True-HD)
    • 8 levels of equalization settable by turning the EQ switch from 0 to 7

Please note that whenever any device, such as this repeater or an AV receiver, is inserted between the source and destination devices, Monoprice strongly recommends the use of minimum 24 AWG cables, even for short runs. For cable runs longer than 15 feet, 22 AWG cables are strongly recommended for best results, especially with 1080p signals.

works well where other products didnt
I have this in-line on a 100+ run of HDMI with non-MP cables (read, reduced quality). Originally, I could get no HDMI reception at all. Installing this device activated the HDMI run. I still get some sparkling at the TV (mainly on blacks), but I'll take it as I tried two other amps that didn't do a thing for me. I use it in conjunction with the 2-1 splitter amplifier at the source.
Note, I don't see a difference that is significant in terms of using different gain settings. Perhaps using an external power source (5v) plugged into this unit would give me the amplification that I need, but I haven't tried it yet.

PROS: Seems to work very well. Gain adjustment tool included.

CONS: MP doesn't include a power supply for this device, not that it's definitely necessary... But I'd like to be able to buy one directly.

    Works perfectly
I didn't even have to use extra power from a DC adaptor. My Google TV device (Logitech Revue) didn't have enough juice to drive 35ft of HDMI cable. The video worked great but there was no sound. Plugged this guy in (to the Revue side, not the TV side) and it fixed the problem

    PROS: -Worked perfectly
    -Small, compact
    -DC adaptor option

CONS: -None. The fact that it doesn't come with a DC adaptor is fine because most likely you won't need it.

Multiple HDMI split, very long runs
From a central wiring closet, I have 4 hdmi cables going through out the house. A 100ft run, 75ft run, 50ft run, and a 30ft run. I have 1 source fed through 2 splitters (1x2 way, 1x4 way). The source goes into the 2 way, 1 input to the 4 way splitter and 1 into the 100ft run. On the end of the 100ft run, I have a repeater (and added the optional power adapter). It took this exact setup for the 100ft run to get the feed, but at the end of the day it all worked. Every single bit of equipment (except for the power adapter for the repeater) was purchased through monoprice and all of it worked perfectly! I can have 4 tvs all share 1 source on at the same time. No sparkles, no drops, video and audio working perfectly! Thanks Monoprice for such excellent quality equipment at great prices.

    It worked very well.
I attached it near the destination device (an AV receiver), saw that red LED power indicators on both sides of the HDMI Extender were lit (implying that the device was receiving power from both the source and destination devices), set the rotary equalization switch to each of the 8 options to determine which options would work (3 options worked), and selected the middle of the three working options. There was no need for a power supply. The total length of the set of HDMI cables between the source device and the HDMI Extender was on the order of 50'. How many cables, you ask? Six. Three of them are embedded in walls. The other three connect the in-wall segments and termination devices together. This was simple and effective solution. Hope it will last. Expect that it will.

PROS: It cleaned up the signal.

    CONS: None

    It works
I love Monoprice products. They are in good qulity and easily resove my problem. I bought this to extend my HDMI cable which runs between my Sony LCD TV and Onkyo Receiver. It works great for me.

    PROS: good quality

    Pretty amazing problem solver
I found this to be a great problem solver when I run very long HDMI cables for my AV Integration business. I have bench tested this unit to 1900x1200@60Hz with no problems. My best success was taking a 10ft 28AWG cable to a wallplate, then through a 75ft 22AWG HDMI cable, then into this equalizer (using HDMI power), then out into a 50ft 22AWG HDMI cable, then into a "port saver" 6" cable, then into a 1920x1200 monitor. Worked great with 2 different blu-ray players and from a PC.

If you are having tiny random "sparkles" on your screen with a long cable, this should fix your problem. I did find that these equalizers do nothing to help you if you are using an active extender (such as with a Cat5/Cat6 extender) and having problems. Usually these problems manifest themselves as full dropouts every so many seconds or rainbow-colored snow. This is really meant for long HDMI cables where the signal is getting weak and the square wave is getting rounded out.

PROS: Rarely have I needed to use external power supplies with these.
    I've gone over 135ft with 22AWG cables at 1080p.

CONS: 8 position "boost" level dial doesn't seem to really do anything good or bad.

    Worked perfectly.
I had a customer who had a HDMI run of about 35ft. The tv was showing green sparkles in place of black colors, general distortion. The adapter worked perfectly without being powered at all.

    PROS: Small, simplistic.

CONS: Does not come with a power supply.

    Just What I Needed
Using Rotel RSX-1550 which the manual (and testing) confirms cannot transmit on HDMI over 5 meters. Well I need more than that. I use this extender with a 1ft HDMI cable from the receiver and my 40ft HDMI to the projector, the signal works 100% and the included screwdriver allows configuring. I was able to use a spare power adapter I had laying around (from an old D-Link router). I didn't look closely when I ordered, I had just assumed it would have come with one.

PROS: Works as described. Small form factor. Quality parts and build. Configurable via dial and included screwdriver.

    CONS: No power adapter.
