    Wireless Speaker Transmitter

Are you tired of all the speaker wires running around your home theater or stereo room? Connect your speakers wirelessly with this Wireless Speaker Transmitter kit from Monoprice!

This kit consists of a wireless transmitter/preamp and a combination wireless receiver and 30 watt/channel amplifier. In a typical configuration, you connect your two speakers to the receiver/amplifier and connect your input device to the transmitter, using the 3.5mm TRS input jack. The audio signal is then wireless transmitted to the receiver, which amplifies the output for the speakers. The receiver/amplifier also sports a 3.5mm TRS input jack, which allows you to use the amplifier in a direct connection, bypassing the wireless transmission system.

The transmitter operates in the 2.4GHz range (2400~2483MHz) with multiple channels to avoid interference from other 2.4GHz devices. By setting each transmitter to a different channel, multiple wireless transmitter kits can be used simultaneously to drive each stereo pair in a 5.1 or 7.1 channel audio system.

A single transmitter is also capable of being paired with multiple receivers, allowing you to configure multiple wireless stereo speaker zones for simultaneous transmission to different rooms or to different locations in a large room or open area.

Works. but volume is low and it will destroy your wifi.

Pros: It does work, and it sounds OK if you plug a source directly into the line in on the receiver...

Cons: Seems to destroy wifi connections on 2.4GHz (frequent disconnects with this turned on)
Level from wireless seems low, low enough to foul auto calibration on most receivers.
Setup can be fussy as you need to press buttons on both boxes at the same time, but at least it seems to remember its settings if you unplug it.

I bought this to avoid running speaker cable across my living room. At first I tried it with a pair of really old bookshelf speakers, but it ended badly when my Denon receiver could not detect the rear speakers because the level was way too low. I switched to an old Sony receiver and it was able to hear the old speakers, but when I bought a pair of Monoprice 10800 to put in the back I had to move the speakers closer for the setup mic to work. Oddly if you plug directly into the line input it gets decently loud, it's just that the levels are extremely low for the wireless connection.

Also, this causes frequent disconnections on my 2.4GHz wifi network, no matter which channel I use. For this reason it's hard to recommend this product, I have to remember to turn it off when I am not using it or my wireless network becomes very frustrating.

    Hello Argyle,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 10601. If I may ask, which wireless channel is the transmitter set to? When there are other wireless devices in range of this unit, we recommend changing the channel between 21-30 to reduce possible interference. You can do this by using the CH+ and CH- buttons on the front of the transmitter. The receiver will automatically change to that channel if it is paired with the transmitter. My apologies again for any inconvenience and I hope this helps!

I used the high channels - currently it is set to channel 30.

    Not quite what it seems

Pros: Looks like it is well-made and comes with all appropriate cables.

Cons: Not really suited for run ning true srround sound (rear) speakers that are two separate channels.

I thought I could use this to send my two channels of surround sound from my stereo receiver to two rear speakers. Trouble is, the transmitter handles only one channel. Probably would be great for extending sound to another room, but as configured it will not handle two channels of surround sound. Too bad, it looked well made.

    Hi Denis,

In order to achieve true surround sound, you would additional wireless speaker transmitters to control each pair of speakers. Multiple wireless transmitter kits can be used simultaneously to drive each stereo pair in a 5.1 or 7.1 channel audio system. Should you have any further questions, please
feel free to contact us. Thank you!

    Not Good

    Pros: None.

Cons: Static, popping/cracking sounds, loses signal, instructions are terrible, need two people to sync transmitter with receiver according to the instructions.

Other reviews mention there are periodic popping/cracking sounds coming from the speakers. I figured that once in a while it would be okay but mine did it numerous times a day and I could even hear it when I had the TV and/or Receiver off. I assumed the unit would automatically switch to an interference free channel but I guess that is not the case. The instructions are absolutely worthless too! I wish I had returned this unit for a refund but unfortunately I kept trying to make it work properly and I kept it past the allowable return time.

    Hello,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 10601. If I may ask, did you try setting the transmitter to other channels? What about in another location? Can we also try placing the units closer together just so we can further isolate what the issue may be? Also, has this been an issue since you first received the transmitter?

Please let me know if the problems still occur. If they do, I can assist you in obtaining a replacement to see if it will work better. We have a one year warranty on this product and obtaining a replacement is of no additional cost. If you want to continue with an RMA, please let me know your results. Thank you!

    Not Working at All

Cons: Occasional popping noises, intermittent burst of about 3 seconds of audio with hissing noise, often no sound at all, loose power adapter connection on transmitter.

I'm not sure how everyone else's review have been so positive but maybe I just received a brick. This transmitter doesn't work at all for me. I've made sure the transmitter and receiver are linking up properly (light off), using the wires directly and banana clips, and switched channels multiply times. It's completely possible that I have too many 2.4GHz devices interfering with the transmitter but it's only having to transmit 15ft so I'm skeptical of that explanation.

    Hi Gabrielle,

I've tried setting the transmitter to multiple channgels, moving the transmitter right next to the receiver and yes it has been an issue since I first tried the receiver. I recently moved into a new place so it has been low on the priority list but once I got around to it I noticed it wasn't working.

I think at this point trying a replacement would be ideal. Please let me know how to proceed.

    Take care,
    Craig
